Media Manager for Storm
Every time I try to add or manage music, it freezes up on my computer.
The other day, for example, I dragged over 3 songs. Only one of the songs is viewable and playable on my Storm (9530). However, in the manager, there are 3 files. I try to delete them and the program goes to (Not Responding) and I have to end task out of there. The manager is fine with pictures and videos.
I just can't get rid of these damn songs that don't work. I can't even try to add new stuff.
Any help? - 02-24-2009, 11:10 AM #2
i dont like to move files that way i like to open up my media card through my computer then lok up removable disks, there should be two files inside the removable disk icon for the bbs media card. once i open it the two files are blackberry g and h i believe. once there i open the one that has pictures files, songs and the rest of my media. then i just drag and drop movi file to movies and song files to songs and so on and so forth.

What program are you using to do this? If your'e using Roxio it's kind of been known to be a pain in a** and is generally not recommended. If they're mp3's, wma's, etc they should generally work just by dragging over to the phone in mass storage mode. Otherwise you can use another program to do the synching for you.

I hadn't really thought of not using the BB program... I was using the Roxio crap. Not to be too much of an *****...but I don't see the device on my computer. Does yours show up as an extra drive?

You may not have Mass Storage Mode enabled. On your phone go to Options > Memory > Change Mass Storage Mode to On or Prompt. I set Prompt because you don't always want it. Now when you connect your phone to your PC, it should ask you if you would like to enable it. You'll see two new drives pop up under My Computer. Blackberry 1 is your Device internal 1GB memory, Blackberry 2 is the Media card.

This is how I was able to connect my storm to PC and transfer files back n forth without... go to Options - Memory - make sure MTP and Mass Storage Mode Support is "On", save and when connect to PC, it should come up as BLACKBERRY1 and BLACKBERRY2 under removable storage drives. Hope this helps.

Yeah, still not working. I'm asking to be prompted... it isn't, my phone just goes the clock when I plug it in. My computer still doesn't recognize it. I removed the blackberry software.

I have a similar issue. I'm fine with moving files through windows, but I cannot take over playlists. They're not recognized...So i was trying to use the roxio crap and it doesn't see my phone at all. I don't want to use the phone to create all my playlists cause doing it on the pc is a lot easier...
