Google Voice Access Number Changed? Or Just New Version of GV?
Hello All,
I monitor my Verizon online account like a hawk, and I noticed I had all of my calls the last week show up on my Peak minutes and not my Friends and Family minutes. I call all the time using Google Voice, but I recently upgraded to the new Google Voice app last week when I read about it last week. The numbers on the statement are inconsistent, whereas before it would show the same number being called everytime. I just tried calling two numbers I knew using GV. One access number was 504-298-XXXX and the other was 916-572-XXX. Before, my access number was 786-353-XXXX. What is happening? Why am I getting all these different numbers?
Does anyone know a fix or know if the original GV app is available someone and still works?

When I call through Google Sync it comes up as a number out of Austin, TX (512-XXX-XXXX). I live in Dallas, TX. Are those other numbers local to you? Maybe the servers are bouncing to handle the load now that Google Voice is no longer invite only?

No, neither number is local to me. My local numbers are 734, 586, 248, and 313.
I found this link though, but I haven't tested the fix:

HELLO ALL!
I have found the fix! Go here via OTA and download the previous version.

The new version seems to act weird when playing back voicemails. No sound, or won't play through the speaker, and just overall flaky. Does the old version work better for voicemail playback?
I am going to try your link....
Yes, it seems to work better than the new one...mLast edited by blaisedinsd; 08-10-2010 at 01:19 AM.
