Default Google Maps and BB Maps question

When trying both of these apps,I have noticed that in the map view for directions you need to manually select the next step for the directions. This seems kind of dangerous when you are driving to have to look down and click on the arrow key.Am I missing something or will neither go to the next step on their own?

I cannot speak for BB MAps but Goolgle Maps will not. Also, with Google maps when in Maps view if the arrow goes off the screen it will not recenter itself. You have to manually scroll over to recenter the arrow.

Remember, although Google Maps could be used as a GPS program it's not truelly a GPS program (like garman) so I personally do no like using it while driving for this reason. It does not have the little features like you are talking about that a GPS program has. Google does have a GPS program (Navigator I believe it's called) but it is not available for the BlackBerry yet.

Make sure you have "my location" selected (click the square with blue dot) and just some place on the map. Then your location will always be in the middle of the screen and the map will move as you progress and you won't have to click any buttons or scroll through the map.

You still need to click on the arrow to get to the next step of the directions.

Why can't you just follow the blue line?
