Just an FYI, but 3.2.1 is the latest GoogleMaps version.

Just trying to understand why one would revert to an older buggier version?

How do I get to the compatibility settings? It took it about 15 - 20 minutes to finally find my location within 10m. It stayed on "GPS Temporarily Unavailable" for quite some time, then it started jumping around a lot. I finally went outside my front door and it got my location to within 10m.

I thought before the Compatibility Mode was found by hitting the BB button from the map view but I don't see it and I don't see a settings option.

How do I delete previous layers? Let's say for instance I searched for "adult book stores" but didn't want my wife to see that? Not that I did that but that is what everyone thinks of when you ask a question like this. So we can dispense with the snickers. Just wondering since I don't want a bunch of old layer searches. Thanks.

Default Google Maps v 3.2 yes; working no

I downloaded v 3.2 using your OTA link, but the keyboard still won't go away.

I installed it a second time and when it finished "replacing" the same version it asked for a reboot, which I did, and it started working properly.

hit the red end key and start at your homescreen on your blackberry. Then go to options/ applications/ and find google maps. Then hit the BB button and select disable compatibility mode

Default Yello...

Yello...

Quick lil question...you people that have the google maps installed....is it a one time download & install and it does or does NOT update itself ?...meaning you don't need a data plan to have it run. I'm not planning on getting a data plan yet and was wondering if I can just download the file and install it and just run it as a stand alone...not using any GPS features....

Thanks.

You need data plan to run Google maps on Blackberry as it doesn't store map info in the device. You may be able to use MGmaps to cache some map info in to your device. Check the link below

Question Portrait view only in Google Maps 3.2.1

I just upgraded to Google Maps 3.2.1 on my Storm and now it only opens in portrait view and the keyboard won't go away. I have the permissions set to "allow" and have done a reset and still no landscape view. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Also I know I can open Contacts and highlight a contact address and have it show in Google Maps, but once I do that how do I get driving directions to that location?
