Lightbulb The Free DVD to Blackberry Converter has been Updated

Just wanted the Crackberry community to know that the free DVD to Blackberry tool has been updated.

It will now handle more current DVD's, and fixes some bugs in the original version.

It was written specifically for the Storm & Storm2, may work on Tour and Bold. I do not believe it will work for the Curve models but you can always try it out.

To use it, all you have to do is put in a DVD, click convert, navigate the DVD Menus to start the movie. THEN WAIT UNTIL ALL WARNINGS HAVE BEEN PLAYED. Once you see the actual movie, click 'I see the movie - Convert' and the conversion process will begin.

You can connect your Blackberry to the PC at any time during conversion. If it is connected at the end of conversion, the program will automatically copy it over to the Blackberry. If not connected, it will ask you to connect or save on the Hard drive.

The program is in Public Beta, to join and download visit this link:
DVD to BlackBerry - DoTheWeb.net

Enjoy!

I have the first version which is awesome and really easy to use. When I try to sign up via the link, I get an error and it won't send me an email. Is there another way for me to get the dl link?

Can you tell me what kind of error you are getting? I tried it and it seemed to work. PM me if you still have troubles.

Thanks

Hi,

I also have been using the beta version and was waiting for this update to help solve the problems with newer movies. For older movies, this app has been fantastic. I too get the error when I try to give you my name and e-mail so that I can get the download link. Internet Explorer says there is an error on the page after I click submit and nothing seems to happen regarding confirming that you received my information. What is also curious, is that I signed up for your newsletter and e-mail alerts several months ago when I first downloaded the beta version. I received neither the newsletter or the e-mail alert about a new version. I only found out about an upgrade because you posted on Crackberry which I log on to often to get BB news. Since your web site has been less than user friendly, a direct link to the app that could be accessed directly from Crackberry would be much appreciated.

Best Regards, Clark

Sorry about the trouble with the Beta signup. Everything should work fine now. Please try it out and let me know if it works for you.

Thanks and have a great day!

I get a screen that says
WARNING: YOU ARE USING A NON-ACIVATED VERSION OF AVS CONVERTER! THE WATERMARK BANNER WILL BE PLACED IN THE CENTRE OF THE OUTPUT FILE!

I guess thats the difference from the free version and paid version huh?
OR I'M I WRONG?

Ok folks I'm gonna help out the OP here. I had the same problems and it turns out you clicked the wrong link on the DoTheWeb.net site. DON'T click the download link! You need to go to the box below then fill in your First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. Essentially you are signing up for their news letter but hey it's the least you can do. Right? That's it on that page. They will send you an Email. Now go to your Email and check for the Email from DoTheWeb.net and click the Download the DoTheWeb.net DVD Converter now link. The download of the correct converter will begin.

The warning that all of you recieved above was because you downloaded another paid converter that they sell. It allows you to try it with the watermark banner so you can see if you like it then purchase it. It is a nice converter and worth the money but not in my budget right now.

Hope this helps. I'll be online for awhile. Gimme a shout if i can help anymore.

As the OP stated it works on the models listed. I highlighted in red a very important thing. You must click on your PC to start the movie. Do this by using your pointer to click play movie on the navigation screen in the viewing window. Then wait til the movie starts and then click convert. Conversion will take quite a while. This is normal.

Unhappy Converter stops working when movie starts playing

I did everything correctly. But right after I "click 'I see the movie - Convert' and the conversion process will begin", the movie starts to stutter and goes into slow mode, then after a couple of minutes the converter shuts down. I get the error message - "This program is not responding. Please close."

What could be causing this to happen? Thanks.

I don't think its the program. Sounds like your computer is running out of memory or there may be a conflict on your computer causing the program to stop running. Does your computer meet the minimum requirements to run the software? Do you have other things running in the background? The converter does use a lot of resources to run the software.

I experienced an error that occurred when i let the converter automatically load the movie onto my BB. It takes several of the video titles i currently have on my BB and duplicates them. So it seems like i put them on twice. It won't let me delete the duplicates until i delete the video the converter put on. Then I have to do a battery pull to get rid of the duplicate titles. The work around for this is to let the converter put the converted movie in a folder on your computer then copy it to your BB from there. Plug in you BB with the USB cable. My method for copying to the BB is to right click the converted movie file on your computer choose copy then go to your BBvideos folder on your BB and right click a blank area in the folder and choose paste. You can also drag and drop however i find this to work best for me.

This has happened before, the Storm goofs up the video list at some point when it is refreshing the list. The converter will not move or edit your current files, all it will try to do is copy over to the Blackberry\Videos folder on your Blackberry if it is connected. After your Batt pull, try it again - it will probably work as it should.
