Download Qik Alpha for the Storm!

i got an update on qik today on my blackberry that said they were doing alot of work to the program and it will be fully acceptable on a few more platforms very soon


anyone with any other info can post here to help us qik users out

I cant seem to get my video to upload. Which button is the cancel button on a storm? I watched the video and I am using 5.0.0.023 and after I record the video and hit pause, nothing happens. I am taking it at this point that the qik should kick in and upload the video, but it doesn't. Has anyone using 5.0.0.023 have this working?

What happens is you hit record, it goes to your video camera app and then you hit record again. When you're done you hit pause and then back out using the cancel button. It should start uploading the video right away. It uploads it live so you can watch it online while it's uploading (which is why you may have only seen the 5 out of 15 seconds). Qik is working on getting it ACTUALLY live like the iPhone version but they haven't quite gotten there yet.

For those using qik on your storm, which version are you using. I downloaded v 1.11 and when I went to my facebook there was no video present and then I went to my qik account and saw the videos but they had a red box with an X in it. when I tried to play it it made noise and ran for a half a second. Man, this app would be totally awesome on my phone. Oh the potential.....

Well I think I got it working but all it will stream is 15 seconds at a time. I haven't tried to upload videos from there yet. That will be next. I put it in CDMA mode. Not sure if that made a difference. I will keep playing with it.

Well I uploaded a video to my Qik account I took this weekend at a free concert. Plays fine. Took awhile to upload but it worked. Now to try Facebook.

Hey man, can you do me a favor and tell me what your settings are in both Qik and your Blackberry? I have the same setup you do: Storm 9530 with Verizon and I can't get this to stream to the website at all (I can upload videos but no way I can get it to stream).

I just noticed this too. I went to their support forum on their site and it says they are working on a build that will be compatible w/OS 5.0 so I guess that means we are up the creek w/o a paddle until they release a new build. It seems the Storm has taken a big back seet to some of the newer phones out there by other vendors. They barely answer posts or emails and never give an eta on anything. Ugh.

Well I had it working on my last Storm2 5.0, would upload to facebook, youtube. I recently dropped my phone and had to get a new now it seems I cant even find a link to download the program again!! I emailed support but got no support so can anyone point me in the right direction to an OTA link?? Thanks

Downloaded app tonight..Doesn't seem to really be working. Very slow..Seems like its locking up my Sotrm 2. Never seems to send the video to qik.

Has there been any movement on a stable version yet? Seems like this app for the Storm is dead. Kinda like everything else for.

I think the Storm is like Windows ME.
