Just to get some sort of rough estimate of what the decebils were. I wasn't trying to measure it accuratly to the one thousandth of a decible. I don't think anyone on here believes that it would be perfectly accurate. It's just a novilty app the people wanna have.

Sry for the rant but some people just **** me off today thinking they know it all.

Default Saw a Decibel App Used in Person

There is such a program out there. I was in an architectural products seminar. Someone asked what the dB level in the room we were in was. The guy presenting pulled out his 8900 and started up the decibel app just to get a rough estimate to the noise level in the room. He explained the app wasn't very accurate, but was a rough number for comparison purposes. He laid the phone on the table in the middle of the room and watched the app. We were a noisy bunch and had roughly 80 dB in the room. He put his phone away and I didn't think about it again until later that day, when I thought about having such an app. I don't know if it was a custom or what. I have the guys card, I'll email him and ask him.

If you could find this it would be amazing... not even kidding. If you do find it, PM me or email me. Anything O.o. I DJ in portland oregon and vancouver, washington and each has their own restrictions for noise to a certain dbM. This would help me avoid ALL kinds of legal bs, and help me avoid spendin 80 bucks on a dbM meter..

I too would be very interested in this info! Were you able to find out from that guy if an app like this is available somewhere?

I see a lot of people wanting to use this app for car audio I think, which I think it would be absolutely pointless to have for those purposes. The iPhone app only goes up to 100 dbs, and I've seen stock stereo's go above 100 dbs. Go to an audio shop with a Term Lab and get tested, or find a competition if you really want to know how loud you are.

Probably not that loud. Xplod amps are about as useful flip flops in the snow, your probably only getting 400 watts RMS from that amp, if that. Your under powering that sub, and if you have the gain on your amp turned up enough, your probably damaging the sub too.

I hope I didn't make a mistake getting this phone.[/QUOTE]

No phone is capable of being an efficient db meter. The mikes just don't have the range and are not designed to do it. I have tried the db meter on the iphone, it's not even close to accurate, like most iphone apps, its just a gimmick. It's kind of like getting upset that you can't get a geiger counter app for your phone. O weight I just checked, there is a geiger counter app for the iphone. Yes, you bought the right phone.

Help us improve our app! Two FREE apps from Pronic apps!

We need you to try out our app Noise Meter for BlackBerry smartphones on your devices.

We have been getting reports from our customers about some issues with the older BlackBerry smartphones models, since they/their microphones seem to behave in a different way. We had to limit the app to the newest models, because we don’t have any older models to test our app.

Hurry and become our tester for your device. Send us an email and tell us which device and OS you are using (we are only interested in OS 5.0+). We will give you instructions on how to download the Noise Meter to your BB smartphone FOR FREE! Have some fun with it and let us know how it performs. As soon as we fix whatever might be causing difficulties, you will get a free upgrade.

Become our tester for your device!

We will reward you with a FREE Noise Meter and a FREE Beer Buddy for BBM!
