Default Decibel meter

Is there an app. already someplace or is it possible to get one to use the Storm as a db meter?

I don't think it's possible. Phones can only read a certain frequency and it's really low.

To test it out have your buddy sit in a car with a system in it. Even if he is right next to the subs you wont hear any bass. You can hear the music nut no bass.

It's hard to explain but it's just not possible

I am pretty sure you are feeling that frequency more then you are hearing it

It's also possible that the phone filters out the lower frequencies in case it was 'noise' to 'improve' call quality. Depends on the setup.

im gonna go ahead and say thats because the bass frequencies are far too low for the phones speakers to reproduce, not because the mic doesnt pick them up. A 1cm speaker cant produce a 45hz note like a 12" speaker can lol

the only prob i found with the iphone ones that did this was the limit....it brick walled far too low for what i needed...

There are lots of useful and serious apps. However, a decibel meter app would be a niche app, so it may happen, but it's probably going to be a while unless there is a programmer out there that wants one.
