Default Civilization IV Update to v1.0.10

I see that there is an update to Version 1.0.10. Is there a way to update my existing v1..0.8 or do I have to pay for the latest version?

Its a free upgrade, though it doesn't help me, as it still doesn't work on .114 or the hybrid 113/114.

The game is addicting and fans of the PC game will enjoy this mini handheld version. A typical game for me lasts a couple hours. Doing battery pulls will not interrupt a game. I have not figured out how to download the update. I am still using .75

The maps do get a bit larger, and they add a few more walls. But all I remember is that the last battle on Easy setting took me about 3 days to win. The first few battles were pretty quick, like 3-10 minutes as you said, but for some reason the last level was one long stalemate. Maybe it's because I didn't master the strategy, but after that long battle, I was sick of the game
