Default city id

I am interested in knowing if anyone has found an app that is similar to City ID - the number and the city and state show when the caller calls.

There is an app in App World called areacode411. But it costs 9.99. Which personally I think that's its ridiculous to pay that much for an app like that. I seen more productive apps for free.

I don't think areacode411 even displays it. You have to go into that program and put the area code in and it will tell you where its from and what time it is there

check our PictureID app Toysoft Development, Inc. - full screen picture id for blackberry

it is a full screen picID and optionally display the city name the call is coming from. currently you can not edit the city id database but we will add this in the future vesion. the city name only works for north america calls

The CityID app that was so popular on the Treo is now available on selected Verizon phones. (Hopefully they will offer it on more phones soon)... it is $1.99 or a one time fee of $35. This is literally one of the best apps... Shows the city and state - along with the phone number - of the person calling.

For many people who used Berry-A-Code, this is a perfect match that should fulfill all your needs.

Hope this helps a few of you looking for this solution.

(PS. It shows a limited number of available handsets, so you will need to call their customer support line to confirm if your phone qualifies)

it is editable area code database. basically it shows the area code the city assigned to it. so if a caller from area code 519 then Ontario, Canada will be displayed on the call screen. Of course if you dont like the name then you can edit yourself.

it would be really difficult to get the exact location of the caller without known ahead of time where the caller location is.

on some platforms you can give detailed information about the call but on the BB i dont think RIM give this info to developers.

Google "Area Code ###" and you will get the same info you are looking for for free and without using any device memory!

I had this app on my old Voyager... loved it and took it for granted.
Hopefully someone comes up with a worth while rendition of this app that is affordable, and doesn't cost a 1/4 tank of gas.

Fone Finder query form

Even tells you who the carrier is, for the most part (occasionally wrong due to porting, but not often).

Default City ID or Something Comparable, Please

I have a BlackBerry Bold 9930 and I, too, would like to install the City ID app or an app comparable to it on my Blacky. I find it quite helpful. Are there any apps like City ID out there for my model of Blackberry?
