I have used both and prefer Pattern Lock. If you forget your code I think you can connect to DM and delete pattern lock, then reinstall it. I am pretty sure that is correct, if not someone will correct me.

the berry slider has a backdoor to the application to allow anybody access to the phone without the password. My 11 year old was trying to break my password and by holding the blackberry symbol on the Torch for 5 seconds. Then you get the home screen to check txt, email. make phone calls, etc etc.

Is there a way to prevent the backdoor? If not then this app is useless. I'm a techy and my 11 year old had to figure this out before me.. Plus I had to give her $50 bucks since I lost the bet..

I've uses all three and i would have to say pattern lock is probably the best of the 3. Ultimate is clunky and glitchy and stormslider has its moments when it doesnt want to lock or act right in general. I have stormslider right now but i may roll on back to pattern lock in the next couple of days

Can I weigh in on this issue? Sadly, I wasted money on Berry Slider and I regretted it. It kept giving me some error message and it would not always lock when I was on a call. This was especially disappointing because it was the primary reason I purchased the program in the first place. I have now deleted it and have purchased Pattern Lock - already I'm far more impressed with it!! Definitely Pattern Lock over Berry Slider. I attempted to contact Berry Slider support but to no avail. You can't design a program and then offer no support for it!

You can make your "design" simple swipe just like the berry slider app.

Came across this thread while hunting for an answer for a Patten Lock question, I'll add my 2 cents as well. I have all three apps paid versions; Slider was buggy at first, so I got Ultimate lock which worked much better. Not that it didn't have its issues either - occasionally it wouldn't unlock, and it never could restore settings from SD card. The beta version was ok, allowed notifications shown on the lock screen but would never display Twitter for some reason plus had the same issues as the first (and only) release version. I did check out the last update for BerrySlider when it came out which was a vast improvement to the version I first used, but I preferred UL's look over Slider. Then a few weeks ago I got frustrated enough to check put PL, and after playing with the free version for a little bit bought the full app. I much prefer it over the other two, more features and much more customizable. If it displayed more notifications it'd be perfect.

The only functionality issue I'm having with PL, and this is what I'm searching for an answer to, is the location doesn't seem to work; if enabled it doesn't lock at home unless I use the lock button, but it doesn't autolock when I leave my house (set to 50m). Is it 50 miles or 50 meters? Thought it was meters but beginning to wonder.
