Default Will Network Vision improve my service?

I've been with Sprint for 7 years but am seriously looking at leaving for Verizon. Our coverage has become so poor that I was able to get out of contract. The extra fees and loss of the annual upgrade has made Verizon's pricing more competitive.

I do appreciate the unlimited data but if it's unusable than it's not really such a great deal.

I understand Sprint is improving the network but I don't really understand what is being done. If we get poor signal and weak/slow data now can we expect a significant improvement over the next year?

If you google Network vision you will get a better IDEA of what is being done.

a very straight to the point answer is yes and how is because sprint will start having phones with radios that are capable of using all Cellular bands that are in use for sprint.

So your phone will select the best and strongest frequency to use.

These will be specially selected devices so you will have to upgrade to a device that has this capability when they are released your current device only operates on the 900/1900mhz bands for cdma.

Thanks....that's how I understood it. So service won't improve anytime really soon but over the next few years as the network is developed and new phones are released. In the meantime I'm stuck with the poor service or finding a new company.

If this is an issue at home call CS and ask about the airave. They generally give this free to people who have poor service at home.

It's basically a portable mini home femtocell that uses your home Internet connection to deliver you at home coverage.

If you were roaming on a partner network that the partnership ended, then you will not get improved service, unless you have a Nextel tower close. Vision is simply making full use of their frequencies on their towers, so no tower no improvement. They are making some announcements soon, so they will probably release the details soon.

Well we all know about the alltel towers loss. I'm sure with this new vision plan and the hopeful deal with lightsquad this will make the reception much much better.

I haven't noticed a change because here in se MA we have good 3G coverage. I traveled to PA recently and damn they got hit hard. I was roaming almost the whole trip.

I have a friend in Michigan that left sprint because Of the tower dropping.

I'm holding out till June because that's when my contract is up and seeing where sprint stands on any new technology.

The problem we were having is even if we had decent signal (several bars) we had no data or at least extremely slow. That wasn't roaming either. So it sounds like maybe the data will improve as long as I connect to a Sprint tower but that will require a new phone and may not occur for another year or more?
