I am very disappointed with Sprint. They should have been the first (or at least among the first) to have the 9930 available. They dropped the ball! I hope they make up for being slow by starting it at a lower price (>$199 w/renewal).

They could still very well be near one of the first to release it. Verizon is the first carrier in the world to carry the 9930. Second with that many carriers isn't too bad imo.

Techincally Verizon has not released the device yet. They have made it available through there site, but until someone who has ordered the device through their site actually receives it, Sprint could still be the 1st to get the device in the US. From what I have read, Verizon stores will not be receiving the device until 8/25 so Sprint stores will receive the device before Verizon's. I am not saying that the Verizon customer's won't get the devices first, but until they actually get the device, the ordering online is only pre-ordering at this point.

Sprint's suppose to be getting the 9930 Aug. 21st from what I have heard/read on leaked info. Mike

They released it. Ordering is ordering; if it was pre-order, it would say so. Online release date is 8/15.

WTF is the big deal....so Verizon releases it 6 days before Sprint, big whoop...

Cool off Sunday will be soon enough and you'll have two Blackberries to chose from instead of 1 like Verizon.

You all are ridiculously impatient. Your 9930 comes out on the 21st. Chill out.

It shipped with a tracking number and arrives tomorrow, just to squash the preorder nonsense...

Yeah no kidding, a bunch of people lost some sleep with the midnight launch + waiting for shipment confirmation, etc.

Except that there are only two national CDMA carriers. In the words of Reese Bobby, "If you ain't first, you're last!". There is a high degree of aggravation among lots of Sprint customers who have been holding on to their upgrade credit for a long time, waiting for a BB that was worth it (from a guy who has been waiting close to two years).

Is the phone any less desirable because VZW beat Sprint to market? No, but in the national carrier pecking order, AT&T and VZW seem to do as they please and Sprint and T-Mobile just do what they can. The few times when Sprint looks like it is leading or innovating, they either get upstaged (palm pre) or outright screwed (Clearwire investment, Nextel Merger), so they can only compete on pricing and coverage (your mileage may vary). As a longtime Sprint customer, it just would have been nice to see Sprint be first to market with a highly anticipated BB handset for once.

A Sprint customer service lady told me today it was set to come out soon but has been pushed back to the end of September... I guess we'll soon see... For someone who has been waiting since the Pre Plus was a rumor... and the Pre 2... and the Pre 3... and holding onto a Tour off-contract until the next big thing (and also holding onto an upgrade for 2 years), I'm at the end of my rope when it comes to waiting...
