9650 .... 9670 ?

Curve 3g if you want to be cheap

Google voice.... I mean it's cool and all, but it's more stuff to confuse customers and for them to mess up. At this point I refuse to deal with any of problems customers have with this service.

I couldn't agree more. Its just one more service for customers to think we have access to in RMS. Google Voice will be cool for the more techy people out there, but those aren't the people coming into the stores with questions. Its the hundreds of people that are your average consumers that will be constantly coming in.

I still don't see the advantage here... people who want Google Voice already have it, people who don't know what google voice is probably don't care.
What this is: a way for Sprint to save money, yet their prices are higher now then ever.
Oh, and their 4G is BS.
I love Sprint, but they need to stop their progression away from being a good deal.

you guys are right. i work in tech support, and i hate dealing with users about new tech or service they dont need to use or shouldnt use.

for me, this gv and sprint sounds good since its totally transparent and no need for the gv app, except for accessing voice mails.

well its all the pluses of google voice minus needing a separate app and phone number for it

one of the things many people dont like about google voice is needing to give out a second number to everyone for the features.

SOME people like having a separate number to hand out to people you dont want having your real number, but at the same time now you can block those numbers out from your real number thru google voice. no paying for a port, no 2 numbers, no app

the only thing i dont like is the voice mails wont play on my BB unless i save the audio file...and the fact i get an email and text for every vm and an email and text for every text.

i had to set up an email filter on my BB to not have my message list filled with double messages

cant do that with voicemails tho as i like the be able to play them from the email lol

i LOVE having my work phone ring/texting thru the comp since i have no cell service in my work office itself but have wifi/net access

The only advantage of doing this is not having to run the gv app but then if one switches carriers you either lost your gv # with one of your choices or now you have to port it. I have 2 BB's and run gv on both, personal and work. I have my gv settings that pick up my personal BB# calls and forwards it to my my work# that way I don't really need to give out my gv# unless I want too. If I want to call out using my gv# I just have to go through a couple extra's steps. I think Sprint's involvement with Google porting, using either one, takes away with having 1 number for life, my perception of what gv was trying to capture.

I would say that many people don't know you can have gv pick up one of your numbers and forward it to the rest if so you desire.

luckily for me my gv number is my main number. nobody knows my cell numbers. which works out great.

i am now on Sprint for a 30 day trial and the gv integration is great. no more gv app and i can just use the native functions of my blackberry.

if sprint doesnt announce that they are getting the 9930 then i may cancel before the end of the trial.

You go with the Bold 9650? If so good choice! I'm sure Sprint will get the 9930 just a matter of when. Hows the service compared to att?

i went the 9670.

i love the form factor but i feel my 9780 is much more snappier. the style's resolution is a little too low for browsing. you'll have to zoom in every time.

Sprint service is good where i live and even better at work. when it comes to price Sprint easily wins.

Ya i tried the 9670 BUT couldnt get used to the form. Got the 9650 to hold me over till the 9930 drops. BY far Sprint has the Best plans service is probably right behind verizon. You gonna stay with sprint?

I actually called in today, and talked to the Rep that signed me up for the 30 days. I asked him about the 9930 and if it would be on Sprint.

He didn't know anything about the new Blackberry 9930. He told me he'll look it up and if he gets any info he'd call me back on it. But I doubt he'll find anything, and if he does I have a feeling we'll (crackberry users) know before he does.

As for me sticking with Sprint, I'm not sure yet. So far the coverage and service is working just as well as my ATT service. In fact its a bit better. I was at dave and busters watching the sharks game and I was able to make calls and browse the web on my phone. I couldn't do that on my ATT phone. it was kind of nice.

I have till June 4th for my 30 day trial. I told my self that If there is no definitive info on whether the 9930 will be released Sprint then I will close the account. If Sprint confirms a release then I'll stick with them and maybe get my fiance to switch over and have a family plan.

I got my 9670 off craigslist before I activated it on Sprint. So that means I'm eligible for a discounted upgrade. Anyways, I tried out the 9650 at a verizon store today and it's smooth compared to the Style. It's slightly bigger than my 9780, and it feels pretty good in your hand. I like the Style form factor, but the only thing that really nagging me is the smoothness and the resolution. I can live with it for now.

you still have it its just inactive (if you make your sprint number your google voice number)

and you can just easily switch back to it whenever u want (back and forth between the two)

when i first set it up i tested it.
1. set sprint number as google voice (old google voice number deactivated)
2. switched back to old google voice number (sprint number became one of the options in phones i can have ring again)
3. made sprint number my google voice number again (old google voice number deactivated again)

if you choose not to do this whole integration thing at all you can just keep both numbers and use the google voice app
