I think Sprint & Google are going to do a lot of teaming now due to AT&T-Mobile merger.

Think the danger in that is that Google doesn't exactly do exclusive services, etc...

That's why I predict Sprint-Google will become one.
AT&T-mobile merger is going to put a major dent in their wallet they really have no choice

Pap I'm going to go further.
As off as it sounds Google may get pretty close with RIM.
How it would work out would be interesting.
Rim will be going through some major hurt due to GSM merger Iphone nation will be just about complete.

If Sprint and Google became one, monopoly laws would almost immediately split them back up.
I don't see the point of this. Sprint is including a feature that is already available. Only difference is that by using Google exclusively, Google gets access to more people's info and Sprint saves money. Win-win for the big corporations, but don't expect any real benefits to come to consumers from this.

I think with this merger being announced, Sprint is grabbing at anything they can to stay relavent. Which is why they are giving you $125 to port over to any smartphone and just announced today, they are waiving their mail-in rebates for online and store orders.

And to SCrid2000, too bad on the BYU game last night, they had a good run .

Google wants to become wireless provider I don't think that will be a problem.
If V snags them up 2 national carriers will be worse the boat wont float , customers being left with 2 choices will never happen.

I could go into preach how beneficial it would be for customers but lazy has hit me lol
Anyway Tons of right ups that point out major pro for customers maybe you've missed.
Why Sprint, Google Voice Alliance is Wave of Mobile Future | Smartphones | CTIA | Tech News Daily

Yes info will pass hands oh well,
Every Google search , Google maps etc provides it.

Adding,
Google really needs Sprint to stay alive.
They will be providing them top notch device selection seeing T-mobile wont be around
ATT not Android friendly , V will be Iphone happy bing bing, If Sprint fails google fails in Smartphone market simple as that.

Except all that's happening is we're getting google voicemail. In the future you may be correct, but that's not what's happening right now.
As of now, you can't make calls over wifi, google voice counts against your minutes (even when calling cell phones, which over the sprint network is free). Yeah there's free texting, but we already have that and most Sprint plans include unlimited sms already.

Their voice mail will be nice f,sure But I love having My sprint # tied into home , work ...heck what ever phone they all ring simultaneously.

When it comes to min being used on wifi Sprint is going to allow some free Google/wifi min.
That's what corp store manager told me.

Adding,
I don't think mobile to mobile on wifi will go against min either need to check on that.
At any point this is great stuff Sprint customers currently don't have the best is yet to come

UPDATE: Here's the official word from Sprint PR. Looks like a serious game changer for Google Voice users.

"Calls made or received using your Sprint phone with Google Voice integration are billed just as they would have been without Google Voice integration. So if you call another mobile phone or another mobile phone calls you, those are considered and billed as mobile-to-mobile calls. If you call a landline or a landline calls you, those are considered and billed as landline calls."

Sprint and Google Voice Get Cozy; Heavy Integration Coming (UPDATE) › AndroidGuys

So it appears that mobile to mobile are free through Google voice for those with current plans that allow it.
That is great stuff!

My first thought when I saw that Google picked KC for fiber was that the decision was based on Sprint being KC based and a forthcoming acquisition. I hope so.
Also switching to a Nexus S 4g after 5 years of BB's in 60 days when my contract is up. It's time to get with the future.
