Default Sprint removing premium data fee for individual plans?

The premium data fee is no longer showing on my bill. Check your bills and let us know.

Are you refering to the extra 10 dollars?

They only apply that if you activated a phone or changed your plan after Jan 29th

If they really did though, then it looks like I'll be getting a new phone afterall.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I have a release day evo. So I was always being charged the premium data fee. However this month it was removed from my plan. If you were previously being charged this fee and you're on an individual plan, you may want to check your bill.

I would like more confirmation on this. As I checked my account online recently and still see the charge. I'm with Death on this I want this to be so true. It would be great for them to remove it.

They're not going to remove it right after making it mandatory for smartphones...

That makes no sense.

Since all smartphones have to pay the fee, they probably just included the fee into the price plan and no longer need to call it premium data fee

They would never do that... if they did, they wouldn't be able to advertise $69.99/mo which they are STILL doing on TV. Cell phone carriers never advertise fees. Sprint has a TON of fees that they've always charged, some of which they cleverly name to appear like its a tax (when its not). I have had so many billing errors with Sprint that I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sprint were to take the chance of upsetting all of their loyal customers by adding this fee and screwing Premier customers like they have and then FORGET to charge the new fee! I wouldn't be surprised if those idiots told us they were raising the rates, then accidentally CREDIT everyone's bill by $10! haha I have been happy with my service, but man, they've got to get it together! haha

Lormaevo,

Since you have had your EVO, has your bill remained relatively the same amount every month? If so, then this month it should be lower by $10 (and whatever taxes they charge on that $10) ...

If your bill is still the same, then Sprint has moved/renamed/masked that fee ...

It will be interesting to see ...
