Sprint Navigation wont upgrade

I get a message everytime I start sprint Navigation that a new version has been released. However everytime I click on upgrade I get a message that says the "protocol specified is not supported by this handheld, lease try again later." I have tried again later many times. The only thing I have not done is rebooted my handheld and tried again, which may fix it but I am not sure. Anyone else have this problem?

never had this problem but the newer version may only be bb7 capable.

I am not so sure of that, but I am applying the troubleshooting steps as outlined in this post on this message board.

Does not matter it did not work. I am following the steps as mentioned in the post on the Sprint message board I mentioned above.

I deleted the old app, rebooted, re-installed and rebooted. Lets see if this fixes the problem… Curve 3G is acting like a snail after the install so need to give it a few minutes.


Nope did not fix the problem as I am still getting the same error message. I am running version 3.0 of Sprint Navigation. I applied the allow all in the prefs as mentioned and Sprint NAV was not running. New version is not compatible with Curve 3G BB OS 6. As usual Sprint probably cant figure that one out. I am so sick and tired of the service I am getting from Sprint. Visual VoiceMail has has bugs for MONTHS and they dont value me as a customer to be able to fix it. Darn!!!

try this: delete sprint navigation from the device > reboot > find the sprint navigation icon in your applications > click on the sprint navigation icon to download and reinstall > reboot > test

reboot by pressing and holding - in this order - alt, right shift, del

Don't be a **** - I read your message. There are several ways of installing Sprint Nav - you did not specify how you reinstalled so I posted a process that I thought might help. You can also try downloading sprint nav from your device ota at this link: ota.telenav.com/ota/sn/nav
