Default Sprint Music Store

I just got off the phone with Sprint Tech Support. I was told to call them to address the issue of Sprint's Music Store not being available for the BB Style (or on any device running OS6, I believe). The rep who assisted me researched this and was unable to give me a date when the store will be available. However, he did let me know that it is supposed to be available with the next OS update, which is what he couldn't get a reliable date for. So, we'll see, but it is at least a ray of hope for getting any previously-purchased music back.

I believe that Music Store was available on previous OSs of BBs, just not OS6. From reading the BB forum on the Sprint site, it is available on some BB devices. It isn't BB itself, but it is incompatible with OS6.

Which I hope will change, or they need to give us a file format converter, or our money back.

Sprint's music store is NOT compatible with BLACKBERRY. It doesn't matter what OS your running its Sprint not BLACKBERRY. They don't feel the need for this technology at this time nor do they feel the need to update the present OS6.0.0.415 for the bold 9650 even though it was flawed from its intial release back in Dec.

The Sprint Music Store Plus is now out. That's the good news. The bad news is, it does not play any of the songs from the old Music Store, the ones with the horrid .koz extension, so if you have songs you have previously purchased from the old music store, you still won't be able to play them.

I spoke with tech support, (Tech Support > Advanced Tech Support> Advanced Tech Support supervisor), and they checked. They don't have any way to convert the old music over because of the extension and the DRM protection on the songs. I was able, however, to get a credit for the $86 of music they had a record for. (Which is about right.)

Checked out the Store, it's a PITA, won't find the song if you don't capitalize the right letters, and it has stuff that isn't for sale. Except maybe as ringtone+music bundles. Meh. So, take with a grain of salt. Feels more like a beta-version of the store. Maybe it'll get better.
