Default Sprint to keep unlimited data plans with iphones

Sprint to Offer Unlimited Data Plans With the iPhone 5 | iPhone 5

Sprint wants to be different according to Bloomberg, and keep offering unlimited plans.

I think they may just get a few more customers. Hopefully the premium data fee will stay at $10.

If this happens, I can see there servers being tied/jammed up and have similar issues to dropped calls/service as AT&T had when they launched the iPhone.

This is the only thing I worry about with Sprint getting the iPhone

Yeah the same story came out about Verizon. They "kept" unlimited data after releasing the iphone for about 4 months.

I don't understand how the iphone is different than any other Android phone in this regard. Am I missing something?

I think it is mainly just the general popularity of the phone and its data usage. I think, but not 100%, the iPhone and Android phones are similar in data usage, but the iPhone popularity is just so large and during initial releases like the one coming, you get a large amount of people going crazy with their new phones and it just jams the system.

It'll probably not be an issue that it stays unlimited; imo, the iCrap is already available on VZW and AT&T, so the amount of iCraps on Sprint will probably stay relatively low. And those switching to iCrap probably already had an Android data hog, or won't know how to use the thing when they get it anyway.
Just my guess.

If it took verizon only 4 months to switch from unlimited data I would guess sprint would switch faster than 4 months. Hopefully it stays unlimited tho, because I want the iphone 5 on unlimited data

iCrap eh? I bet you think that's pretty funny. Coming from a guy who's still on a 2 year old 9650.

You have no idea what your talking about. Sorry your on a piece of junk phone. Once you switch to an iPhone, you'll never look back.

Yes, I do think iCrap is funny. If you have a problem with that, why are you on a BlackBerry site?
I can see iPhone ownership doesn't correlate with skill in mathematics (just like it doesn't correlate wit intelligent consumerism); the 9650 has only been out somewhere around a year and a half.
As far as "still on a two year old" anything, some of us have kids and bills and can't buy a new phone every time one comes out.
Finally, I had an iPod touch - so basically the same as an iPhone. I can't stand the thing, so why would I like an iPhone? You're right, if I had an iPhone I wouldn't look back... Because doing so would cause me to burst into tears of pain and sorrow.
G'day to you sir. Enjoy your iCrap.

Just to throw my 2 cents in, I don't think the iPhone is "iCrap" but it is not for me. There is a huge market for iPhones out there, but not everyone wants one. I currently own an iPod Touch and an iPad and personally I can't stand even trying to type on the iPad. I love my Bold keyboard and will more than likely never own an all-touch device, so to say that once you buy an iPhone, you'll never look back is an inaccurate statement. Everyone has their own personal preference and there is space in the industry for both form factors and both will always sell.

Call it iCrap all you want with your outdated phone.

But your iCrap appears to be kicking the snot out of your rIm-garbage. Oh the BB PlayBook will save the day for RIM won't it?

Why are you guys arguing over phones? One man's treasure is another man's junk. People have differing opinions and that's why so many companies thrive and compete. If Apple didn't have RIM and Android makers and vice versa, there would be no innovation and competition to regulate one another. RIM has been struggling, but I enjoy RIM's package and look forward to QNX phones. I also, enjoy my iPad, but Android devices offer things that aren't available on the iPad that I would like. There are great features on each device, and people's priorities on these features differ and that is why some prefer BB, some Apple, and others Android.

not going to happen..

1. when att launched iphone they had poor 3g coverage ..pretty much the same size as sprint 4g network is today.. they also had limited backhaul... so not an apples to apples comparison.

2. given most users already have unlimited plans on sprint your projected increase and problems with bandwidth can only happen if there are huge (and i mean huge) increases in NEW customers, not current folks trading BB or android for iphone.
