sprint... how are they?

short and sweet... im looking to leave tmobile after 7 years. right now sprint is my number one option. wanted to hear from loyal long time sprint customers on sprint as overall cell provider.

I have been with sprint/nextel for 10 years now and i can say they have been good to me. i know they now serve a $10 smartphone increase per month but its still in competition with the others big companies. i recommend sprint to my friends when they look for options.

My family has been with Sprint for past 10 years. We have lived on the east coast, upper mid-west, south and pacific northwest with Sprint. I remember 3-4 dropped calls in this time. May be that is just because I have been in metro cities, but nonetheless, I can't complain.

Their customer service is hit or miss, so you hope you don't need them often. They are much improved from how they were 3-4 years ago, but still not impressive.

so, I give Sprint a A grade for signal and cost, and C+ for human based customer service!

1. user site- sprintusers.com - post specifically askinig re service in your area. (is not sprint dot com telco site) coverage is key. now that only have 2 weeks instead of a month to evaluate phone/plan personally, others' experience is of great importance. in my neck of east coast, few connection issues in > 10 years. ymmv.
2. if you purchase at Radio S or Best Buy, rebate is instant, so total bill for phone out the door is lower. everywhere else, you send paperwork to Sprint and wait for rebate to arrive in a month or 2.
3. typically, bill issues arise upon update contract w/ new terms: takes several calls/emails/ bill cycles to straitene out -- be persistent till they deliver.

im actually thinking about waiting now.... as sprint doesnt have any 4g capable blackberries. i might wait until the first of the year and see what QNX phones will offer.

I have enjoyed my expierence thus far. 2 years. I love in NJ. Very rarely do I get a dropped call. Data speeds are just fine. Can't beat the price for a family of four. Plus my wife is stoked about the iPhone. Not me, love my 9930.

Like all experiences in life, results will vary depending on use and location. Not everyone can be great everywhere in the mobile communications game.

To the OP, I'm a commercial driver, and my general experience over the last 7 years has been a good one. There are areas they are great in, some, not so much. conditions are subject to change at any time, but I've had no real reasons to complain about them.

I tried sprint once and compared to Vzw the coverage is much less and voice quality IMO is horrible. The best voice quality I had was ATT.

I have both Sprint and ATT and was at Verizon. Verizon does have the best coverage. When traveling over the Blue Mountains I never lost a signal. Then after transferring to Sprint I tried the same thing and lost coverage about half the time. Having said that, you have good coverage in large cities so if you travel a great deal I would go with Verizon. However, most people, like myself that don't travel by car that much can do just fine with Sprint.
Here is what I like about them. Service is good. People really try to help you. The cost is O.K. but when you add the fact that they really have all you can eat data and messaging it turns out to be cheaper. To that add the FREE voice navigation, FREE Sprint TV, and FREE text messages and you got a super deal.
If you get a business account (even a very small business) you will get even better treatment.
Also, they have the very awesome Bold 9930 right now and you can order it on-line for 199.00 on Amazon and a few other places.

how was at&t? im thinking about them right now as well. can you give me your opinion on them?

AT&T seems like it is going down the crapper from what I can tell. I'd stick with Sprint or Verizon.
