Just because it is a "first," doesn't mean it has to be something crappy. I am totally disappointed. I am past due for an upgrade. I was hoping for something that I could use - or even remotely like. This ain't it!!!
I happen to really like Sprint, as far as my plan and service go, but I really, really want a Torch or at least a new BlackBerry I can use (Dakota, Monoco).
I know their announcement said nothing about being related to BlackBerry, so I was only hoping, not expecting. But hey - I'm an adult. I want an adult phone. Not some toy.
Yeah, sure, it is an industry first, but who wants to be known as first in crap?

Beatles has nothing on this.
As far as firsts yes I'll agree, why didn't anyone think of this before? I know we can come up with a lot of reasons. It does look like a ds on steroids lol.
I'd hate to see the forums on this phone, you'll just here about battery life problems on 2 screens, yes you could just use one but I'm sure you'd want to use both, and the hinges look like they can break on the first fall

Yeah, sure, it is an industry first, but who wants to be known as first in crap? | Nobody said this announcement and industry first would be an 'adult' industry first.. This phone is not geared toward business users. More 'fun' type of users. Hello high school students!

Why would they pick this over the iphone? The marketing alone is too large of a hurdle.
If the only hope is that they are stuck on Sprint, then they still have to compete with actual qwerty phones (for texting, and which can be cheaper) and more established android touchscreens that don't have to power an entire additional display just to use the virtual keyboard.

At least Sprint didn't annouce a REALLY crappy phone with anything like 4G, dual core, hi-res 3d display, world phone unlocked with GSM all running Android 2.3 or 3.0. Oh yea, please Sprint I was just thinking the other day how much a dual screen would drain the battery SO much faster than my EVO already does.
Please, Please PLEASE, all I want in a mobile phone is shorter battery life. Perhaps a smartphone with no battery is next ?

It might be a win in Sprint's eyes, but for existing Sprint customers with the Epic 4g, it sucks since they don't have froyo yet, and the way it looks will never get the official froyo for their phones either. Shame on you Sprint for not fixing your existing phones before releasing newer ones

Shame on you Sprint for not fixing your existing phones before releasing newer ones | Brings up a good question about the fragmentation of the OS across the whole market. Some devices that have this version, or that version, thus can run this app with a dual core processor or not, etc. Any Android geeks have any perspective?
