Let me know if you thinks that confirmation. I do.
I don't see anything about June or about Blackberry users. It was about Mogul and PictureMail and Sprint TV.

Maybe I overlooked it, but I don't see it.

Even though I have seen ATT, Verizon, and T-Mobile keep calls in the same place where I drop them.

If you notice Sprint doesn't advertised fewest drop calls, most realiable network or "Rock-Solid Network." They just advertise "Sprint Speed" for the data speeds only. I believe they recongize there is room for improvement in coverage.

Just for clarification -

I didn't say that no provides better coverage. I said no carrier can provide you more coverage then what Sprint does with its Vast-Roaming agreements and free roaming plans.

And you're probably on a SID-Border and are affected by a lot of pilot pollution, it not that you don't have coverage, you have too much coverage (and yes there is a such thing) especially with being a High rise.
Same thing happens in NYC for me.

And Sprint doesn't Market that been part of their problem with keeping subs.

And not to be skeptical, but there are numerous people on HOFO and SU that would challenge you about Chi-town Sprint Coverage. I wont challenge it because I've only visited the Loop and Michigan Ave when I was there 3 times and Sprint was no problem for me.

I see your point now but I live and work off Lake Shore Drive and it is terrible. When I am in the center of the city, yeah it is fine, but not where I spend a majority of my time.

I also vacation in Hamden, CT ever year and that is TERRIBLE. I have to stand on the balcony to get a signal. Even when it roam, I only had one bar and the call would drop in minutes.

That probably a different problem then, I have never experienced any problems while in CT, but of course I haven't been everywhere in CT.

As for the pilot pollutions, there's very little Sprint can do to correct that or any carrier for that matter. You just happen to be in the wrong place. VZW customers can experience the same thing. A good indicator is if the bars on you BB are bouncing all over the place for no reason; you miss calls and you phone didn't even ring; Delayed Txt coming in. are the main symptoms.

I am completely with you. No matter what the carrier's marketing slogans say, we still have personal experiences based on what we...well...experience with each carrier.

When it comes to this topic, no one should make absolute statements since they absolutely can't be true for everyone.

Interesting. Is this a phenomenon of downtown areas with building reflecting signals, or just in general? Is it CDMA more than GSM? Just curious.

Default 8330 release

i chatted online with a sprint cs today and below is the transcript. i dont think her info was accurate, she was probably just following script or has been instructed not to release info on the 8330. she did agree to something of intrest, sprint DOES announce 30 days in advance of a phones release date. so that did bother me. for what its worth, i have been with sprint for the last 4 years or so and have tried all the carriers available to me here in the midwest. we dont have vz here yet. my first was cellularone, remember them? ive had several blackberries dating back 10 years ago. recenly ive done the pearl, 8830 and currently 8703e. if the brightpoint document is correct on price, dont whine. $600 really isnt that much after renewing/starting a 2yr contract. about $350 after a 2yr. thats just what your going to pay for a top-tier, new release of a data phone. give it 3-6 months if youre not a professional or dont make professional $. and now for that transcript........

2:44:42 PM System Connected with Arlene
2:44:47 PM Arlene Thank you for contacting Sprint. My name is Arly. How may I asist you today?
2:45:20 PM aaron do you have an official release date for the 8330 blackberry curve
2:46:22 PM Arlene I apologize, we do not have the release date. You may have better luck at blackberry.com. Sprint usually rolls out the new phones about 3 months after they have been on the market.
2:47:29 PM aaron as a sprint user it seems to be more like a year. the gsm model has been out for almost a year
2:48:20 PM Arlene I understand the frustration. I am not sure why Sprint lags behind other carriers. The reason given is to allow the "bugs" to be worked out of the new models.
2:49:38 PM aaron or maybe the the gsm carrier is willing to pay for the 'first out' rights. theres a leaked bp document claiming the 8330 has a release date of 4/16
2:50:47 PM Arlene Hopefully sprint will pick it up in the next 6 months.
2:51:15 PM aaron have you seen many requests or inquiries for the phone im referencing?
2:52:07 PM Arlene We have a lot of people interested in the 8330, perhaps the execs will listen to the customers. I send notes all of the time to the back office about the inquiries into the 8330
2:53:12 PM aaron i was just curious if much of the sprint data phone customer base is really that interested in it
2:54:27 PM Arlene Yes, Blackberry users are loyal and always looking for the latest models. Unfortunately, we can only give them the older ones. This may change with our new leadership.
2:57:42 PM aaron good. if sprints data/blackberry rates were not so competitive, i would have opted for the $100 gsm model by now oppsed to wait for the $350 sprint model when it gets released. back to the release date, doesnt sprint typically make an annoucement at least 30 days before its actually available?
2:59:37 PM Arlene Yes, 30 days prior to the actual sale of the phones.
3:00:00 PM aaron thats what i was thinking. thank you for your time
3:01:10 PM System The session has ended!

Wow, it's embarassing to read that as an employee of Sprint. She pretty much dogs out her own company several times. Secondly, the Touch was not official announced by Sprint until 2 weeks before it's release. There was buzz and people knew it was coming, but they actually announced phones due in Mid-November like the Rumor before they announced the Touch coming on November 4th.

Secondly, Sprint has had several phones that were first to the market, such as the CDMA Touch, Upstage, all Sanyo phones (obviously), the Rumor, RAZR2, and countless others.

I think what most people have to realize is that no Sprint employees that have direct communication with the customers are "in the loop" when it comes to these kinds of things, and all you'll get from them is speculation or fibs.

I'll be sure to let you guys know something as soon as I hear it directly from the source, but honestly, Sprint keeps us in the dark.

I think the CSR was only referring to Blackberries. Which would make his statement true.

Blackberry Curve is releasing April 17th. Mark my words. This is official from Sprint via our retail communications channel.

Forgot to mention....CAN'T WAIT to finally be a Blackberry user!

Also, one more thing. The Curve will be available to purchase on the 17th, but won't be put on display in stores until April 20th, when store layouts change to the Spring planogram.

You are probably right but why no marketing from sprint and no press release. We are less than 30 days away. This could be a great way to boost sales but still no formal word from Sprint to its customers. Odd huh ?

Since when does Sprint market anything right? Don't worry, it's launching, and hopefully before VZW
