Default Sprint confusion!?

so as we all know Sprint didn't release any official information regarding the availability this Sunday of the BB 7 devices. I called a bunch of stores and got responses varying from " we aren't going to get any new BBs for at least 2 weeks" to "we'll call you as soon as we receive them" and even a store manager whom I spoke to in person and said they already have them in stock but can't sell until Sunday. This makes me wonder if Sprint is actually releasing this week or they are just trying to make ppl save their upgrades for the almighty iPhone which is rumored to come out soon, or wtf are they trying?
If anyone out there has any concrete info, please post here so we all can get some idea of where we're standing.

Same situation here, I went to my local Sprint store yesterday and they confirmed the launch to be this Sunday. I have also spoken with multiple CSR's that have confirmed as well.

So if you're on Sprint Premiere and you have a $75 1-year upgrade credit (left over from before the new changes to Premiere) then the phone will cost $324.99?

nope...understand sprint gives 3 types of discounts...depending on what you qualify for...2 years $150 discount/ 2 years $75 discount/ 1 year $25 dollar discount. $150/$75 discount only at store. 1 year $25 only via sprint (telesales) and online. lets say price for phone is $499 plus my local FL tax at 7%...thats $533.93 minus the $75 (2 year upgrade) phone is $458.93 for me...get it now?

im assuming bold 9930 will be $499.00 becuz thats what i saw at the store and right now sprint has bold 9650 @ $449.00. Unless Sprints decides to release 9930 at $449 w/o contract...that would be awesome!

I hope it is $449.99 but I'm expecting $499.99. I just got a SERO account from somebody and just had contract removed today so I'm looking to pay full retail to stay contract free.

Sprint officially released the date of sale as being Sunday August 21, see the press release via Engadget--sorry not enough posts to provide URL link--of course they do not provide the off contract price.

BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850 Available for Sprint Customers on Aug. 21

Powered by the next-generation BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry® 7, a performance-driven operating system designed to deliver the ultimate in communications, multimedia and productivity, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9930 and BlackBerry® Torch™ 9850 will go on sale in Sprint Stores, Sprint Business Sales, Telesales at 1-800-SPRINT1 and online beginning on Sunday, Aug. 21.

At just 10.5mm thick, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 smartphone is the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone ever. It features a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, the widest QWERTY keyboard available on a BlackBerry smartphone and a trackpad for easy navigation. BlackBerry Bold 9930 also offers Near Field Communications (NFC) support for a secure exchange of information between NFC-enabled devices over a very short distance.

BlackBerry Balance works in conjunction with BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 5.0.3, which provides a number of unique IT policy controls, such as wiping only corporate data or blocking work-related content and apps from being copied or forwarded to personal contacts.

BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850 require activation on one of Sprint's Everything Data plans plus a required $10 Premium Data add-on charge for smartphones. Sprint's Everything Data plan with Any Mobile, AnytimeSM includes unlimited web, texting and calling to and from any mobile in America while on the Sprint Network, starting at just $69.99 per month plus required $10 Premium Data add-on charge – a savings of $39.99 per month versus Verizon's comparable plan with unlimited talk, text and 2GB web or $9.99 per month versus Verizon's 450-minute plan with unlimited text and 2GB web. (Pricing excludes taxes and surcharges.)

Well I just called a local dealer in my area and not a corporate store and they said $499.99 and I would have no issues if I wanted to buy it. So I may have to go that route. Still calling around trying to get one early
