I just got a flyer from Sprint announcing their "Total Equipment Protection" now includes a new app that does:
- locate a lost phone using GPS
- Sound alarm on lost phone, even if set to silent or vibrate
- lock a lost or stolen phone
- remotely erase contacts from lost or stolen phone
- sync, manage, and restore contacts

That's enterprise type capabilities, now for individual users.

Looking further, the app is only available for Blackberry and Android. But that's a good start.
