Default Sprint/Boost Phone Compatibility?

I have a Sprint 8330 and am wondering if this phone will work on the Boost network? I got my son on the boost network and have my old bb sitting here collecting dust. If he can use it on the Boost network. Then I think that would make him a happy boy.

Sprint on Boost

Some people have said that if you use a NEW never activated Sprint phone, you can just call in and do a phone swap. YMMV.

Sprint Phone w/ Boost Unlimited?

You will need to grab the service books from HoFo to make the internet/MMS work on the phone...it's not hard to load them, and the instructions are all over the Boost CDMA section.

It's advisable to wait until the evening or a weekend to get the phone activated--the people who "care" aren't around

Flip it around; previously activated phones are easier to put on Boost than brand new ones

As long as the phone is a Sprint CDMA you can use it. All you have to do is put the custom service books on the phone and then call boost. They will indeed activate the phone for you, but they will advise you that some of the features on the phone may not work properly. I have a Sprint 8330 running on the boost network, I have had it for about two weeks or so and have not had any problems with it. Other than one minor problem, the SMS texts would not send one morning so I just did a Provision under options --- then go to Mobile Network --- you will then press the blackberry key and then click Start Provisioning --- Also make sure under the mobile networking the Data Services are ON, and the NETWORK SELECTION MODE is says Home Only. I believe the default is Automatic. Good Luck and if this helps make sure to hit me with a "Thanks!"
