Default Restocking Fees?

So I am in the market for an upgrade from my old Blackberry. The Style is interesting... I just don't know if I would love or loathe the flip form! But I would like to try it out for a bit and if I don't love it then I am going with a more traditional Bold.
They told me at the Sprint store the other day that it is a $35 restocking fee if you wanted to exchange for another phone within the 30 day grace period. I was wondering if Best Buy has the same policy?
Thanks!

Not sure about Best Buy's restocking fee although I can imagine it's probably the same. I just wanted to give you some insight... After having it for a month, I think the Style is a great phone! I too thought about getting the Bold but coming from a Tour, I couldn't bring myself to spend $200 for a trackpad, wifi and more memory! I scored my Style for half the price of the Bold, and they were buy one get one free so I got my wife one as well. A lot of people talk down on the Style, but it is honestly the most powerful BB Sprint has to offer... it is actually an upgrade to the Bold in a few ways (bigger screen, bigger keyboard, "N" wifi, 5mp camera, etc). I also thought I would get annoyed by having to flip the phone open and closed at first but it really hasn't been a big deal at all. If you are the type to constantly be on the phone, it might be an issue but if I'm involved in a long text conversation, I just leave the phone flipped open sitting on the table. I have nothing but good things to say about the Style and I recommend it highly.. good luck with whatever you choose to buy

Did you go to a 'real' Sprint store or an authorized reseller?? If the location you went to does not have a service technician, then they are likely just a reseller and they might have different policies than a corporate store.

From my personal experience, we have changed out phones within the 30 days (on 2 or 3 of our 5 lines) and never paid the restocking fee. they sometimes waive the activation fee if that particular line is at the end of our contract and they know we can walk away if we don't keep the phone.

I also have the Style after having the Curve 8330 for almost 2 years. No regrets. and right now it is on sale at Best Buy for $50! it was $80 last week, so I would buy it soon ... I do suggest hanging out at the Sprint store before going to Best Buy - you can get a better feel for the phone there, since all BestBuy has are plastic fakes for the Style ... I was a little put off by that, but considering the only other real BlackBerry option for me was the 9650 (and paying $180 or more!!!), it was not a deal-breaker.

If you want more feedback on the Style before you decide, head over to the Style forums here on Crackberry. There is a lot of good information and feedback for you to check.

Thank you everyone!
I have been driving my boyfriend nuts because i have already been to sprint twice to play with the phones!
and i plan to keep on going back until i know. the last flip phone i had i LOVED. it was the whole reason why i switched to sprint (well besides the fact about reasonable their plans were). it was the lotus in purple haha! i love that phone, and still have it for backup when my android would fail (which is why i am now a blackberry fan).
everyone i know that has a blackberry has the tour or the bold. maybe the style would be a refreshing change? the jury is still out on that one...

Corp, Authorized, and Prefer Retailers charge this. It's on the front page of your contract, bottom right hand corner. No restock fee's for a new customer but if your upgrading then yes. If you go to a non-corp store they most of the time wave the fee for you or do not enforce it. As far as I can remember, it's been on there for at least 2 years

I went with the Bold 9650. If I were to switch to the Style and try that out, would I still get 30 days in case that I wanted to go back to the Bold? I am wondering if I might just do that, to make sure that I am 100% decided. Does anyone know the answer to this?

I'm almost sure Sprint allows you two times, congrats on the 9650. I've often wondered what it would be like to go back to a "FLIP". All of my previous phones (dumb phones) were flip ,not until I went "SMART" did I stop using them (about 4yrs ago). Its just praticle with more use means less hassel to get in and out of a conversation weather its text,e-mail,bbm,and or course phone calls. GOOD LUCK with the new phone.......wish mine were new

Most only allow one exchange in the 30 day period.
