Default Question about selling phones

Hola, I am not old enough for a job, and just payed for both a 9650 and an Alienware. This leaves me at a little lower than 200 dollars.
I plan to pay it all off but in the mean time, i have a question.
If I buy a phone from Sprint(or some other company) , then promptly sell it, will I be able to keep my current plan?
I ask this because I want to get the Playbook and just keep the 9650 as it is.

Thanks, Tell me if this wasnt clear enough.

A little confused on what you're trying to do. Are you saying you want to buy a phone on contract, and then sell it?

i want to buy the phone, then sell it before actually activating it, this will save me the 10 dollars per month so id really like this to happen.

If you buy a phone from a dealer, and use and upgrade or activation, THEY HAVE TO ACTIVATE that phone before you leave the store. You can deactivate it later. But the dealer must activate the phone on your account before you walk out the store.

But if you deactivate within 30 day of purchase you will loose your mail in rebate, and the phone can be flagged lost/stolen, and possibly your account could be flagged for fraud.

Also keep in mind that some vendors require you keep it active for X amount of days or you will be charged outrageous fees. Best bet would be to buy from a corporate store, probably online since rebate is taken off at purchase.

In my experience, you don't need to activate the phone on the spot. I have done it multiple times without any problems (from corporate and best buy). Just say you are using the phone as a gift for your friend. For the other part of the question, since you are extending your contract you would be agreeing to the new terms so you are going to have to pay the extra $10 that is now required.

If you purchase the phone from Sprint telesales, the phone does not come activated (and you don't pay up front, it gets added to your bill...for me at least, might depend on your credit). I'm guessing if you use your upgrade for this, it would be fine, BUT...the account rep might upgrade your plan prior to you activating the phone. Also, as someone else mentioned, if the phone has a rebate attached to it as well, you'll lose out on the rebate if your phone isn't activated on your account for at least 30 days. Purchasing from BB or RS might get you around the rebate, but I'm not sure about the activation.
