Default Problems with Visual VoiceMail after running latest OS 6.x Patch

How can this bug be reported to Sprint so they can release a new patch?

I updated to the latest Sprint Bundle a few days ago and after the update Visual VoiceMail has become quite problematic to keep working. I regularly have to reboot my BB to play messages. The only temporary solution is to call my VM system, but the Visual VM system stinks compared to the old Sprint VoiceMail system, as messages are not kept longer than a week, and a third of the features are gone. I have looked and even called both Sprint and BB tech support and both are clueless. Sprint sent me updates to my phone via the network, asked me to remove the battery, ran the update profile and update PRL options in the mobile options screen, etc.. My next step is to take it into the Sprint repair center and have them downgrade the OS or do whatever they need to do. The previous Sprint build worked just fine with Visual VoiceMail so not sure what the problem is. Is anyone else experiencing this bug and how did you fix it? I am more limited as I am on a Mac. I wish I would have kept the latest build, as I unfortunately deleted it to save space (last time I will ever do that).

UPDATE...

Sprint repair Center was unable to fix the phone. They wiped the phone and reloaded the data and still Visual VM has problems. I then spoke with BB tech Support for 2 hours on saturday and they had me do a security wipe, and still visual VM has problems. We did other tests and were unable to come to a resolution, so the conclusion is that Sprints latest UPDATE conflicts with Visual VoiceMail.

I had the same problem with it as well when I downloaded the last version. I ended up having to delete my visual voicemail account. It was getting to the point of whoever was calling me from any carrier with visual voicemail was either getting my voicemails or theirs and not giving me away message..SUCKS

Install you mail from bb app worl set it up delete sprint visual voice mail app after set up done properly of you mail visual voice mail from app world u will get icon voice mess delivered to ur pone also an e mail and text letting u know u have a voice message its free and u can retrive it on any computer also by pone works great

Thats the only answer i found sprint knows nothing bb support knows nothing you mail works no trouble with my 3g curve 9330 but my 9670 style would only lock up after first message then batt pull still only work once youmail visual voice mail plus bb app world will fix everyones problem till rim fixes it the problem is not only with sprint but other carriers as well and also many pone models this third party app works and its free

Thank you all for your posts. I too have been experiencing Visual Voicemail freezing up since I upgraded to .522. Since I really havent noticed any other differences on the phone from the .407 version I downgraded tonight. I dont like bugs and visual voicemail has been an especially buggy thing for me. I seem to have a bit more memory now too.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. Thanks to this screwup I missed out on 2 messages where they called me back about job applications. I'm unemployed so this was a pretty damn big deal.

It's absolute BS that Sprint did not make any effort to roll back the defective update or even let anyone know that they weren't going to be getting their voice mails.

Now how do I get back to Bundle 1609? All I can see in the software update area is that the update was successful.

I also had VVM issues for about a month. Finally took the time to call Sprint. They also had me do a wipe and reinstall. No dice, VVM still not working. Got everything loaded on my phone and then noticed I couldn't make phone calls. Called SPrint back and got that working. Asked if they could take a look at the VVM and see if there was anything wrong on their end. They said everything looked correct. I kept getting an error message when I rebooted so I wiped again and reloaded everything. Phone calls work but no SMS and still no VVM. I called Sprint yet again. Finally got this nice older lady (believe her name was Dolores) who fixed everything! Someone had mixed up my phone number and device MEID numbers on their end which was why my VVM wouldn't work. SMS wasn't working because someone put a ghost block on it. I now have a perfectly working BB and it only took 2 device wipes (which were completely unnecessary) and 3 phone calls. If I were you, I'd call back and make sure the device and your phone number are configured correctly. Ask to talk to someone in Advanced Technical support. They're the ones who actually know the phones and how to fix the issues.
