Default Price Drop Soon? (9930)

So my contract expires in March, and I'm with Sprint. Anybody know if the price will drop by then? to maybe below 100?

bolds typically stay at the 99.99 range until the next bold is released... so it is unlikely until next bb10 device is released.. unless u trade in ur old bb for the 100$ back

If RIM wants to get those current BB users who have devices one ot two generations old, then maybe there will be a price reduction. Then again they may just up the incentive for people to trade in their old devices.

Phone is at $199.99 right now and BB's typically don't go down very much in price on any carrier. All depends on what rebates your carrier has at the time. It was offered at AT&T about 3 months ago for like $149.99, but went back up after the holidays.

I've gotta believe that the price will drop sometime soon. It's been on the market for almost half a year and everyone knows that the phone isn't worth what the carriers are pricing it at. The people who couldn't wait to get their hands on it have already bought the phone. Now the only people waiting to buy are those who are willing to wait for a price drop. I truly believe the carriers will realize that and drop the price as I'm sure that sales have plateaued by now.

The price will drop when it's close to another release typically to replace that model. It'll more than likely drop to $150.

I seriously doubt the price is going anywhere anytime soon. I mean, they still have the tour 9630 (non camera) going for $100 and the curve 8350i going for $119.99.

amy is correct. as long as it sells they will not drop the price. look at the 9850 that price dropped because not as many people were buying them.

when the 9930 first dropped and for 3 months after it was side by side with the 9650 and they were both 199.

I've been holding out on replacing and hanging on to an upgrade since last May but this Bold is on it's last leg. BB will give a $65 rebate for the Bold and I am planning on going in to Sprint to get the Bold 9930 at $199. Essentially it will have run me $135. Then when the BB10 comes out, looks like I'll be beat.

Has anyone utilized Best Buy's buy back plan? I was just reading for a phone with a retail price of $600, if you bring it back 0-6 months, you get $300. And, for that same retail price of $600 on a 6-12 month return they buy back for $240. I'm tempted to take that route while I wait for the BB10 but can't sit it out as this Bold won't make it.

I'm kinda in the same boat, my upgrade is in April and I was going to wait on the BB10, but now that OS2.0 for the PlayBook is up and running....GOOD, I like the keypad bridge concept so no need for a full touch screen. The 9930 would be a perfect combination with my PlayBook. Hopefully a SALE is looming

I suggest you take a long hard look at the apps on the playbook before you decide..you give up a LOT to get bridge.
