Also looks like the SEP is extened through JUNE! This is from the instinct info....
Not sure if this was already known.
Purchase of the Instinct requires activation on an Everything plan, starting at $69.99. Existing customers can switch to Everything plans without extending their contract. New line activations require a two-year agreement. Instinct requires an Everything plan for key features to function appropriately. Customers currently may not switch to a service plan for the Instinct other than an Everything plan. GPS reliability varies by environment. Coverage is not available everywhere. Offers not available in all markets/retail locations or for all networks. The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network reaches over 230 million people. The Nationwide Sprint Network reaches over 262 million people. Other restrictions apply.

The vast majority of response from Sprint has been the response, "The Curve will not be released until June 1st."
Of course, all of us wanting the phone, couldn't leave well-enough alone, and we refuse to accept that date! We would rather base our hopes on a date displayed on a drawing on the face of a picture of the phone. And though there are a lot of things saying that it was supposed to be released earlier than that, the most consistent answer has been June.
I've been waiting for this phone since it was announced on April 1st at CTIA. I can wait another month, I'm without a smartphone currently and my current cell phone plan has no contract. (Hasn't had a contract on it for about 4 years, now. I payed full-price for my Motorola W315.)
So... I don't know. I'd like it to be tonight. I'd like it to be next Sunday. I'd like it to be the 7th. But I'll be okay with June 1st.
I do know, however, that it's been really great fun sharing in the anxiety and speculation with all of you! May the next 3 hours/week/month be equally enjoyable!
Cheers. |

See if one of the CDMA networks was getting something. (GSM networks around here can be really spotty. Seems to work really well where I work, which is by a highway, but as I go out closer to my home, friends of mine completely lose signal.)
So... I wish I could say I feel your pain. I can only hope that the Curve is everything we hoped for. |

I just spoke to the sales guy I've been dealing with and he said all were sent back to Sprint upon their demand as the shipment was sent in error and that the delay is software related and mid June is the earliest release date being reported as of today. Apparently many stores throughout the country were sent handsets but had to return them until this issue is resolved. A request has been sent to all Sprint Retailers to remove promotional materials until official release date is announced. | And........ Quote:

If it were phones being delivered it is possible that they were delivering other models. Yep, Sprint offers several different phones. Imagine that! |

Or the majority of misinformed sprint csr's that have a different answer each time? The last official anything I heard from sprint directly was the news release that said later this month.
We're all gonna have to deal. It sucks that sprint won't release some updated info. That would be too easy for them I guess. They did say in their news release ". . .later this month", last month. Its like they're pretending that the curve never existed. . .or they're just trying to make us feel like it never will. They can put news releases about The Pope in NY, the option to watch the NFL draft on your phone, Instinct is getting some front page love. . . the curve. . . not one other mention on all of their pages. WTF!! Quote:

I'm not sure if this has been discussed or if it is even something that Sprint would consider -- with all of the "want"/"need" of the Curve by those in this forum and other forums and those who aren't even looking at the forums, why doesn't Sprint take pre-orders for the Curve ?! This would reduce the need to race out and get one one as soon as it is available and they could realize what their inventory needs to be for this release. I know that there are many people on timelines with their current phones and those that are waiting for the release -- Sprint needs to step up and take control ! |

I am now wondering if I buy one of those, unlock it.... would sprint activate it?

But they have ok plans, and the curve. Maybe it's time to jump ship for a little while? I too wonder if their curve can eventually be activated on sprint's network.

From there you could install all of the other features as needed. Its the same curve just a different label at the bottom.
