This rumor makes me happy AND sad!
Happy because I've always wanted an iPhone.
Sad because now I have to decide between the potential Monaco and the potential iPhone. |

Non wimax, non LTE, non radically different iphone on Sprint so that GSM users will be able to use the equivalent of 4g on their carriers but Sprint won't...
I don't see this happening, or if it does, it's a kind of stupid move....

It's a great move if it includes global roaming. Sprint's current global phones are garbage.

No one else is getting a 4G version so whats the difference? No don't even start the argument that T-Mobile and AT&T have 4G. Yes they are getting a faster HSPA+ but so what? And Verizon isn't getting an LTE version yet so again, why would this be stupid?

VZ got the iphone 4, this is not the iphone 4.... It's not the same thing.
Also the VZ iphone 4 launched before the VZ LTE handsets. Not true with WiMax....
And as much as people love to crap on HSPA+ upgraded HSPA+ is far better than CDMA EVDO Rev A, so it's not "so what". There's a difference, and a fairly decent one at that.

Ok but if it did launch with 4g everyone would bi*ch and moan about how its going to kill the battery like in the thunderbolt. This is going to make sprint good! There phones (other than evo's) are kind of slacking

Other than the EVO line Sprint phones are lacking! Ur kidding right? only thing Sprint is really lacking are the hot blackberries like the torch... we have probably the most impressive android line. we have the Nexis S coming, the Galaxy S 2 coming, EVO 3d, the droid pro... i think Sprints current and future phone line up are very much at par with the other 2 big carriers.

not crapping on gsm 4g but it is a crock that theyre calling it 4g. i hate when the commercials call it 4g. i understand it will be the same as the vz iphone and all the other iphones but the big thing here is it will be on tmobile and sprint which makes carriers more able to stay with the smaller carriers and not have to be subject to be a part of the monopoly of att and vz.

Dear Apple.
GTFO I DON'T WANT YOU.
Love Death.
Wait. Unless that gives us more exclusive BB's like AT&T.

im still pretty sure 4g is kinda of a placebo network. its not a total reality. but since carriers can squeeze another 10 or 20 bux from people its as real as you and me
