Just upgraded a Pearl 8130 and Curve 8330 (both Sprint) to v.131 downloaded from BB site (official version) .......

MMS send results in big red X on both. Tried with picture attachment, contact / address attachment, and also no attachment with same results.

Located in SE Michigan.

All other features of v4.5 appear to be working correctly.

In southern Illinois (near St. Louis), and I can send regular MMS on my Curve. The T-Mobile and Verizon recipients say it looks like a normal MMS message.

Receiving MMS is simply a text message with a link to view the photo in Picture Mail. No thumbnail contained in the text message for me.

Running the leaked Sprint .131, which appears to be the exact same as the newly-released version.

Thanx guy just trying to rule out any possible difference in OS versions but consensus seems to be that there the same.

Wonder what the deal is in our few neighboring states?

Thats how most sprint fones are when it comes to mms. I have been able to receive mms in that form, but really want "true" mms where you click on the mms and boom theres the pic. none of the "click this link," "click this link to enlarge," "click this to save to phone," etc...and since sprint has gotten rid of their sprintpcs mail service you would think they would get rid of the "click link to view pics" as well. just gives me something else to complain about since it looks like they did release 4.5 and mms so can't complain about that anymore.

I sincerely hope the receiving end of MMS isn't what it's been all along as this current method isn't true MMS. From what I've been testing, the MMS pictures are still going through their picture mail service. Granted we can now send MMS messages the way we were supposed to, we're not getting them the same way as they're being sent out.

--------------

Update: I put up an inquiry to SarahKS on the BuzzAboutWireless forums about how we're supposed to be recieving our MMS messages, she replied with the following:

I doubt that I can get an answer today, but I will ask someone from the Blackberry team to look at the issues and write up exactly what the experience is supposed to be.

I upgraded this morning without any problems. Official version from RIM.
I see the option to MMS, but get a big red X. I tried different file sizes, battery pulls & reset service books multiple times.

I'm in South Florida..

Still getting the big red X in Kentucky.

HTML emails should be showing up just fine with 4.5. Check your settings and make sure HTML is enabled. You may still have to tell it manually to download the images for your emails.
