Default CDMA users: Browse and talk? Big deal

So I am have an 8900 GSM with Edge. I have no ability to surf the web and talk at the same time only on 3G GSM carriers.. I understand in this scenario Edge and CDMA users are the same.
Is this really a big deal? DOes anyone truly wish they had this feature?

I ask because I am thinking of switching from AT&T to another carrier.

Has anyone switched from GSM to CDMA?

What are the examples of where one would use both besides maybe giving directions or other situations that I am not even be aware of? Or is it just nice for bragging rights?

I came from telus's CDMA and talk & surf has stolen me lol
I don't see it as a big deal, heck, the mail, if any and all notifications, poured in seconds after the call. it's almost like Push On-Hold.

Talking on a headset and reply to CB Posts.

Look up naughty videos,

Look up pictures of cats,

Look up directions,

Look up directions on how to look up directions,

Look up what you can do while talking on the phone.

Look up FML.com

The walkaround is to connect to wifi, so wifi handles data while your 3g radio handles voice.

I have Vzw and I found that I rarely had the desire to talk and surf on my phone at the same time.UNTIL recently... BB Bridge changed my outlook. Just today i was on my playbook while at work using my 9550 bridge connection to stream music on slacker and read a few crackberry blogs when my phone rings. as i mindlessly answer the call i realize the music stopped and CB playbook app stopped working. Made it hard to zone out on a boring conversation and made it unbearable.
If your a playbook owner it would be an added plus to talk and use data at the same time.

Thanks to all the above. Most of you guys are correct. I am not important enough that I would need to answer an email over the phone, and I can't post on a forum and talk on the phone at the same time. So I would survive. I guess the GPS directions thing would be nice, but that only happens ever so often. And I assume if I was on a trip I wouldn't be alone. That person would probably have a better GPS than I would.

I would agree with most, not a big deal. The only time it becomes a problem is when using GPS. I use Navigation alot with my 9930 on Sprint. Depending ont the call or where I am going, one has to give. The only other time there was a problem, was when I used my Palm Pre as a hot spot for another device. But that was when Mobile hot spot was FREE. The other device would lose its connection when a call came in.
