Default cancelled my sprint service

Today I cancelled my service. I was on day 18 of a 30 day trial and I decided to end it today. The service was fine and I was using a BB Style and the phone was okay.

The rep asked me why I'm cancelling and I told him I want to wait and see if the new Bold was going to come to sprint. He then goes to say we do have the new Blackberry and he showed me the Curve 3G. So I explained to him about the Bold touch, and his response was that I shouldn't wait for it because all blackberry touch screen devices are bad. And that if I wanted a touch screen one that I should get the Evo. To prove his point he said that's why Sprint doesn't carry the Torch.

I though the rep was being ridiculous and didn't know what he was talking about. I use to have a torch and it was great touch device, but I much prefer the candybar formfactor. Anyhow, he scoffed at my decision to cancel my service to wait for the new BB. Well, that was an experience that made me glad I don't have sprint, but that just because of an uneducated Rep.

But for those who are thinking about switching to Sprint there service, except for that Rep, was great. My called dropped less and coverage equalled to ATT's, at least for where I lived. What makes their service even better is their unlimited everything plan. Its about 15% cheaper compared to ATT. If Sprint does get the 9930 I will probably make the switch, albiet at a different Sprint store.

So, let me get this straight. You left Sprint because some guy making 7 bucks an hour who doesn't know anything, told you that Sprint hates Blackberry Touchscreen phones and they'll never carry one?

Doesn't make sense, but to each their own. And back to /shudder AT&T?

The BB Bold 9930 IS coming to Sprint, just no release date yet. Most "rumors" say that it may be around Sept/Oct of this year.

Yea. I'm already convinced it'll be on Sprint. It's just a matter of when.

Just waiting until it actually drops so I can switch an use the discount for a new activation. I'm also hope they release a new BB Style. If it has the same specs as the 9930 I might even get that than the Bold Touch.

Sprint in store reps are just there to sell the current line up of phones, and the guy had probably never even heard of the Bold Touch until you told him. I only deal with reps in store when I want to get a phone on launch day and I go to a store where I have a friend working. In store reps don't know much about upcoming devices except maybe they hear a rumor or stumble across something. But I do understand your point of leaving Sprint from the experience you had on that day, I have made similar stances with stores, Wal-mart for the most part, can't stand that place. But I hope you get the phone that you are looking for and I can say I have had Sprint for almost 10 years and their service has been very good, so if you want give them another chance if a phone arrives that you would like to own.

I've visited Sprint corporate stores where they do just about everything to talk you out of a Blackberry. But Best Buy has to be the worst. They hate Blackberries at Best Buy.
I'm looking forward to the new BB Touch. I love Sprint. I was with ATT for a year with an Iphone, but discovered the joy of Blackberry and Sprint service. I'm happy.

None of the reps I work with act like that. That's kind of embarrassing!!
