Default BB Op System ?

I currently have a BB 8330 and I am considering upgrading to the Bold 9930, is it possible to back-up the 8330 and load all of my info onto the 9930 by doing a restore since the operating systems are different ?

Thanks

Sure use BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Get it from the BlackBerry site. A word of caution. Just back up your data and restore that to the new device (contacts/messages/calendar/PIM entries). There are some issues reported with restoring apps. Desktop Manager has help info built in or search the forum here for info on how to do a selective backup and restore.

You don't want to do a full restore from an older OS to a newer OS...

Do a selective restore as minimally as possible (contacts, etc).

@Papped won't the incompatible stuff just not get transferred?
A lot of your apps will need to be upgraded or just won't work anymore OP.

Thanks for all of the info

I bought the 9930 and transferred all of my data from my 8330 by using the switch device tool on the desktop manager and everything transferred perfectly without any issues.

Glad to bear it all went smoothly. Good luck with the new phone. Must be night and day compared to the old curve. Lol
