Default Any News?

As a loyal Sprint customer for 8+ years, I am just looking for any news that might lead me to believe Sprint has something in the works for a new BB line, that would include some form of touchscreen. If anyone has any details and/or rumors, please post here. I am getting very restless sitting on my upgrade for over a year now.

Upgrade to the 9650 early.
If you upgrade after January 28th you will have to pay an extra 10 dollars a month.
Yes. the same you have to pay for the Evo 4G.
So quick Bold 9650> Style 9670
Not in numbers but in awesomeness.

As for the rumors. I haven't seen anything lately. we are currently just waiting for the next gen devices. Torch 2, Bold 4, Curve 4, Storm 3.

I think.

Yea, I know about the $10 upgrade, kinda sucks, but the plans are still more than comparable, and everything is still unlimited. I will not care aboue the $10, well $20 including my wife, as long as the phone is worth it.

A lot of us are wondering the same question. The big announcement with David Blaine or whatever his name is seems to be pointing towards a 3D Droid phone which personally doesn't interest me.

I'm eligible for an upgrade but like you, there's nothing that is worth upgrading and extending my contract another two years for.

If I had to guess, the next Curve and Bold that comes out, Sprint will get those and little else. I seriously doubt if we see a touch screen BB in the next year or so. Sprint seems content with releasing and re-releasing the same phones over and over with a few tweaks to the OS or to the bezel.

That's what I am afraid, and I am kind of expecting it since they seem so pointed toward releasing as many DROID phones as they are able too. I love my BB, and have had very few problems with it over the years, but I would like to upgrade to seomthing new to play with. I guess I will just sit and wait. The main problem that I have at this point, is the fact that I still am under a 2 year contract due to adding my wife to my plan a 8 months ago. So, even if I wanted to go somewhere else to get the latest and greatest BB, I still have over a year of waiting. Don't want to go to any other carrier, but kind of tired of being disappointed.

BUT, you would hate to upgrade early to avoid the $10 per month fee, then on Feb 7th, Sprint surprises us with a new blackberry's!!!! Then you will be stuck with what you have, unless your in that 30 day window. For Sprint to strategically add this $10 fee right before the announcement, it seems like they are thinking ppl are going to run out to purchase new devices.

Agreed, on the coincidence of increasing the fees. IMO, Sprint feels they have something, possibly in this announcement, everyone is going to want, so they went ahead and introduced the new $10 fee. But I also would have to question, are they really going to have this big announcement for a 3G device, since the $10 fee is already assessed on 4G phones? I'm not for sure, just putting it out there to see if anyone else has kbnowledge and/or input.

**IF** Sprint releases something touch screen like a Storm3 or a Torch CDMA next month rather than or in addition to the rumored 3D Droid device, I'll gladly pay the $10 a month for data plans. I certainly use my data, coming in at just under a GB last month. I YouTube a LOT when I'm at the gym usually using anywhere from 45 mins to an hour of data watching TV shows online each day so if paying $10 a month extra means I'll get a Torch AND be able to keep my Simply Data plan where everything is unlimited, I'll be a happy chickie.

There have been several threads stating Sprint has EOLd the current Bold line, getting ready to release something new. Chances are, it'll be another Bold or a Curve -facepalm 3.0- edition. We can hope though.

Recent rumors say that LG is introducing a 3D phone at MWC, so hopefully that means it isn't the announcement on the 7th.

I grabbed a bold just incase. I bought it off Amazon for $150 and it should be here tomorrow. I will return it if the torch comes out in February. It was between that and the Evo shift. The shift felt very flimsy to me and didnt have video out so I passed. The bold is a good phone, much better then what I have and will serve my needs for quite a while if need be.But I want the torch.

You know, it's good to see other people that share my Outrage. I would like to see some sort of BlackBerry Announcement from Sprint. They keep touting this WiiMax...I'd like to see a WiiMax BlackBerry.

Now I know that is not coming for some time...but geez, I've been waiting on a new BlackBerry for a Long While. I'm on my Trusty Tour (Yes, Trusty) and I'm not convinced Sprint or RIM even want to add to this Family of BlackBerries on the Now Network. As for a 3D phone, I'm so disinterested it's not even Funny.

I refuse to even entertain the idea of a 3D TV...much less want a 3D phone. Seriously, is the Sprint Customer Base that Shallow?

I am in the same position. However, in the store the Bold is 199. So if you get it know and save the 10 per month over a new two year contract, you are only saving 40 dollars. Id rather just wait to see what sprint comes out with and see if the price of the Bold comes down . Just a thought.

That particular Bold has also been on the market for about a year and a half now. It's well past its shelf life.

Patiently waiting for a new touch screen device. Crackberry has a thread about the new CDMA devices. We can only hope and pray that Sprint gets the Moncao (Storm3) or the Curve touch which is at the bottom. I for one have no interest in the Dakota but that seems to be the most logical choice for Sprint to get next.

Check the front page of CB. There is a list of the CDMA line up of blackberries for 2011.

The Sprint Bold has only been out since last may. So not even a year.
