Default Verizon Curve on Sprint Network?

Im trying to buy a curve 8330 from a friend who has verizon and is upgrading her phone, but I want to know if I will be able to use that phone on the Sprint network. This is after I tried to use a 8830 that I purchased online and it turned out to have a bad esn #. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Sprint will not activate a Verizon phone, nor will Verizon activate a Sprint phone.

I believe verizon will activate a foreign esn, and I personally seen it happen with a sprint treo 700p...

Here is a web clip from Nov 30, 2007, *more than 1 year* ago... I'm sure a lot has changed since then....

As much as I've read, unless you know someone who can add the ESN to Sprint's network, it probably won't work. Check out craigslist or ebay for cheap Curves for Sprint. You can easily purchase one for under 175.
