Default Switch from AT&T to Sprint

Has anyone recently switched service from AT&T to Sprint? I've been mulling a change for a while, simply b/c AT&T is getting more expensive by the month.

Basically I want to know the quality and extent of Sprint's coverage in the US. The one good thing about AT&T was that I got service everyewhere I went, especially when taking long road trips.

If anyone can vouch for Sprint's service, good or bad, please let me know.

    Thanks

My latest road trip was to Kansas from Miami, Florida. I had coverage the whole way. My last local trip was down to the Florida Keys, where I had coverage (where others did not). And my last flight to NYC a couple weeks ago, again I had coverage, even in parts of the subway. Also went to Vegas where I had great coverage. I can't complain.

My gf just switched from AT&T to my plan with Sprint; she hasn't had anything but good things to say about it. Less dropped calls, and better coverage. She just drove from Washington State to Kansas, and the only time she lost service was in the mountains of Montana.

Sprint is not that bad in most regards, but their customer service sucks.

Actually, their customer service has improved considerably in the last couple of years. I rarely have to deal with CS, but all the times I've had to, I've never had an issue with them.

I am going to go with...

sprint everything plan. $99.99 a month.

AT&T is about $180-220. for the less options.

And the kick in the **** is that ATT does not have 3g for blackberries.

I went from att to sprint. The speed and coverage increase dramatically. Network failures are a thing of the past.

    CS is really nice too.

Oh no, I have to say that att has cornered the market on good phones do not get me wrong...

But I do not need the latest and greatest. The curve works just fine for me.

And for the price each month, att can keep its forced monopoly.

I had AT&T a long time ago, and then I switched to Sprint. It's worked great for me in the Baton Rouge area. Also, I used to travel between here and VA. For the most part, it worked. I will say one thing, my AT&T service was better in rural areas than Sprint.

You will probably get jealous of ATT watching them drop new BlackBerries like bombs while Sprint will maybe get one every year or so.

On the other hand, I get EVDO almost everywhere here in SoCal.

The original point was that he was leaving AT&T due to it getting more and more expensive every month. That implies cost increases, not the fact that Sprint plans start out cheaper. Or did you sign a 2 year contract at a fixed price that you didn't evaluate in the first place...

How is the cost increasing? If it's not, then why sign up for AT&T in the first place...

drove from Indiana to Kansas and had no problems at any time with Sprint. I've had them for 7 years now with no real problems to speak of.

I have traveled coast to coast and everywhere in between including Canada and Mexico and have had an issue with coverage or call quality.

Default Nothing but good things to say about sprint

Great service from Sprint, cs has been very helpful. Just moved from Phoenix to NJ and have had 3G everywhere in between...just drove to S Carolina last weekend and it worked everywhere then as well. I don't talk that much so I go w/ 450 mins + unlimited everything else for $79 (I get a corporate discount and its $55 after tax). Nights start @ 6 so that's something to keep in mind!

Well my 2 cents... I live in Chicago and I get great coverage here. I came from Verizon and I have no complaints. Love that my phone is not tied down or handicapped and that I don't have to pay extra for navigation or bis. That said this year I have been to phoenix, az and surrounding suburbs, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, NC and Daytona beach and I didn't have any problems anywhere. Sprint rocks IMO.

Going from 180-220 down to 99 wld be enuf for me even if had a dropped call here and there. That being said I went from Att to Sprint and there hasn't been much difference as far as volume goes dropped call wise so def worth in IMO especially if you aren't concerned with the latest and greatest BB

Like everyone else has stated, the only problem with ATT to Sprint is Sprint doesn't get the latest and greatest blackberry.

But Pricing, Coverage, and Data Speeds/Coverage.

    Sprint cannot be beat!

I was with att for two months, and was already tired of them. They changed some terms of my plan within only two months. I didn't want to stay and see what would happen next.

The EDGE coverage seemed to be alright, but would fluctuate a LOT. For example, I could have full bars at my house, make a call, and it would drop to 0 bars and drop the call. Or I would have full bars down my street one day, and 0 bars another day. The 3g coverage was pathetic.

I'm on my 2 months with sprint now, and no regrets. Paying half and great coverage. I don't have full bars all the time, but coverage+3g is better, and signal holds stronger. I can do more with 2 bars on sprint than with 4 on att.

I was just billed my ETF yesterday actually....kind of slow.

My pops has an iPhone... and everytime my parents come visit me out in AZ, my dad gets poor reception with his phone.

It's just funny... One time I was in my hotel room in downtown LA... I had full reception and my girl who has VZN had no reception what so ever...
