Default Sprint offering pre owned certified devices as well now

Sprint Launches Certified Pre-Owned Device Program to Give Wireless Phones ‘Second Life’ and Offer Sprint Customers Exceptional Value | Business Wire

Interesting, I just checked on our account and if I say have water damage on my 9630 I can buy a refurb for 79.99$. Thats 20$ less then insurance without a contract extension and without affecting our current upgrade eligibility status.

I like this. If I would file an insurance claim it would be 100$ deductible for refurb, so this is a better deal.

There's a reason the tour is $79.99.... and don't forget that price reflects the kind of prices you will get on re-sale, because now everyone and their mom can buy a tour for $79.99 so expect the already low tour re-sale prices to plummet....

a tour that works perfect and is in good shape sells for more then 80$. These phones are refurbs which means brought back to as good as new state. It's still 20$ cheaper then a insurance replacement say if you have water damage or you loose it. And if you don't have insurance and something happens I would prefer to buy a refurb from Sprint with some warranty on there, then to get it of Craigs list or Ebay form someone you don't know.

So again this a good deal.

It's not the refurbished state that is the problem. It's tour phone model in general. But anyways...

Well I have refurb. My first tour got radio issues after I dropped it and the refurb one I got functioned better then the new one. For people without insurance who get non warranty issues with it its a good deal to replace your phone, or to try a bb out without messing with your account upgrade.

at least you know that its properly tested.

Don't forget that if you get a reconditioned phone the warranty does not apply like a new phone.

Where are these phones located on the sprint website? I can't seem to find them listed anywhere. Do you need to call customer service to order one?
