Sprint Navigation
I've never had the chance to use it yet, but i have it free in my SE plan... so I was wondering if it was any good?
Any mini-reviews? - 11-17-2008, 08:32 PM #2
I've run some tests on Sprint Navigation. I found it to be 85-90% accurate. Some unnecessary u-turns, and on one occasion did not have the data of a newly opened freeway. The majority of the time it will generally get you where you need to go. It's a free app to sprint customers with unlimited data plans. Enjoy!

Works pretty good imo.
My only issue is that on the Curve, sometimes the loading screens are slow (which seems to be network or GPS related). Checking account registration and route calculation sometimes hang for a decent amount of time and I'm not really sure why. - 11-17-2008, 09:51 PM #4

Works, but has a couple minor flaws.
I've used Sprint Nav a number of times. The only thing that I really hate about it is that it doesn't output the audio to ANYTHING but the internal speaker. I'd REALLY like to output the sound to a BT headset or to a BT speaker, but it's just not possible.

Yeah that is pretty stupid. I have my phone usually hooked to my car by the 3.5mm jack, yet the stupid app forces audio output from the internal speaker...

I currently have and use both att and sprint nav apps and prefer the att version.
The sprint app like a user stated can advise of uturns that don't need to be made and reroutes for no reason a lot, especially when going under a bridge. It sometimes thinks you are on the bridge. This has been my experience and can be different for you.

Sprint Nav to BT - speaker button is your friend
Sprint Nav will output to a bluetooth headset ... just press the speaker button. I use it regularly and have to use the bluetooth because I usually can't hear the speaker (either because of my music way louder than it needs to be or because of my son watching Blues Clues in the back - he's too young (18 months) to use headphones).

Thanks for the tip nilemann, I too have problems hearing the speaker. But other than that works really good for me.

I currently have Sprint Nav and Google Maps on my curve.
Sprint Nav is good imo, but I've grown to like Google Maps as well.
Sadly, only downside to GM is the lack of turn-by-turn audio that Sprint's got.
So, depends on what you'd like out of the gps enabled app.

Sprint Navigation: A must in my book
I am on the road a lot and I faithfully use Sprint Navigation. I have had one or two problems, but it was because I didn't have enough signal. I also have Google Maps loaded for a backup program, which will work if Sprint nav won't if there is not enough signal. I use sprint nav for looking up phone numbers, addresses for mailing things, etc. Its a great program and there are a lot of pluses to it. There is a speedometer and a compass. I was in the car with my mom the other day and she was sitting in the back and she caught me speeding in her car (which has her name on the back of the car because she is in insurance and I guess thats cool if you are an insurance agent?) by using the speedometer on the phone.

Thnks!
I'll try to use it as soon as i need to know how to get somewhere, haha.
Or I'll just try it out going different places.
But that's stupid that you can't use your car's speakers with it, what about headphones that plug into it?
I use those because I always leave my bluetooth earpeice at home, but I always have my earbuds in my car for some weird reason?
