Lowering my bill
Hello!
I need some info.
My husband and I have BB Curve's with the Simply Everything Family Plan. It's $189.99 (for 2 lines) but with taxes (Orlando) we are paying $235 a month. We just heard about T-Mobiles Even More Plus plan and for $139.99 we can get the same thing. If we are taxed the same we are still saving $50 a month.
My dh uses about 2500 minutes a month and I use about 1100. We do not have a home phone and he uses his for work. I am not sure how many minutes is cell to cell or cell to landline.
any other way I can lower my bill instead of moving to T-Mobile? - 11-02-2009, 10:38 AM #2
well first figure out if he calls alot of landlines and you tally up those minutes.. if it doesnt pass the Everything Data Family - with Any Mobile, Anytime. then get that.. also check with sprint depending on which company you work for you could get a discount on your phone bill each month

Be sure to take a look at what your getting.
TMobiles EMP plans are great, however you will need to shell out 799.98 for a pair of new Blackberry 8900 curve's.
799.98/24 months = 33.33 per month + 139.99 + 19.98 for Navigation (that is included with Sprint) = 193.30
So compared with the 189.99 you are paying with Sprint, it may actually cost you more to go with Tmobile.

That is only if you are including the cost of paying for the BB over the two year contract. If you compare apples to apples then TMO would be cheaper using the info you supplied.
@op keep in mind if you have any of the "everything plans" you get the free calls to any carrier mobile phone. You could go with a lower minute plan if you call mainly mobile numbers. - 11-02-2009, 12:03 PM #5
You may want to give Sprint a call...I just got off the phone with them
[upgraded to 5.0 and ended up with white screen of death...I'm off to repair store this afternoon sigh]
Sprint now has a lower plan which is SUPER if what you do is call a lot of mobile numbers. They have a limit on the landline minutes but the Mobile numbers will not count on this new plan....and it is only $69.99/month.
Doesn't work well for me as I call lots of landlines but if I didn't I'd jump in a heartbeat.

But that's just it, it's not apples to apples. One plan includes a phone subsidy and one does not. If you were to compare the regular even more plans on Tmobile for unlimited blackberry service, they are the same as what the OP is paying on Sprint (189.99) however they do not include Navigation or 3G data (for the Blackberry).

1) Talk to Sprint, telling them you might be switching multiple lines to another carrier because of a better pricing on Tmobiles plans. They might cut you a deal.
2) You better make sure the coverage is worth a crap on Tmobile, otherwise the price reduction is a moot point...My website http://papped.webatu.com - 11-02-2009, 04:58 PM #12
If making a switch to a new carrier you generally will not pay full price for any phone. I believe you can get the 8900 Curve from TMO for a new contract for $150.00.
If you are comparing plans then compare services as that would be the deciding factor. Take the plan you have and match it up with the plan from another carrier. - 11-02-2009, 06:07 PM

My husband does not like his Blackberry (gasp!) because he cannot get his Outlook from work on it. So he is looking at a Palm Treo brand new from Ebay for $100 or less. I will get a BB, of course, I could not handle running my household of 5 young children, PTO plus Girl Scouts and Church leadership roles without it!
I figured out with buying 2 phones and paying our ETF it would take 7 months to start saving about $50-$60 a month depending on taxes. We pay $45 in taxes a month alone. its ridiculous! - 11-02-2009, 09:23 PM #14
I just changed my two lines from SEP, to everything data with 1500 minutes, saving $60.00 mo. When we figured out that between us, we don't even use 1500 minutes a mo in talk time and what we do use, 97% is to another cell, why not. The unlimited data helps, between us we tally about 6500 texts a month.

There, Their, and They're are not interchangeable. Come on people learn the difference among the 3.

I just switched from the SEP to an everything data plan for my 2 lines. I went with the 1500 shared plan, after taxes, insurance and 25% discount my bill is down to $116 per month.
With the new Any Time Any Mobile I'm lucky if I use 60 minutes a month between both lines.Tact is for those who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic

The downside of the Even More Plus plans is you have to pay full retail for the phone, even as a new customer.
If you sign up for an Even More plan, the 8900 cost is 149.99.
If you sign up for the Even More Plus plan, the 8900 cost is 399.99.
In order to get the cheaper phone price, you have to pay more for the services. The OP was asking about the Even more plus plans, and with those, the 149.99 price is not available, unfortunately.

Have his office check into web access for outlook. My office does it, and I can receive their email on my curve.
I have 5 phones on the everything data shared 1500 plan. We're hard pressed to use 400 of the 'not free' minutes. Any mobile you call with this plan is free, any carrier. Data /text/pictures/web is included.
Base price is 129.99, and you can add additional lines at $20 a line.
With my discount, tax included, I'm under 190 a month for 5 phones that feel no restrictions... - 11-03-2009, 06:12 PM #20Juan Too Big Perez
