Help Please Asap
Okay I'll try to make this a long story short .... My boyfriend is trying to switch from an instinct to a curve, he bought this curve from a guy who stopped his sprint account and went to verizon within his thirty days. This dude gave back his original curve and switched to verizon, well after the fact sprint sent him a curve throu the mail (don't know why) and sold it to my boyfriend. So we go to the store and the rep says that the curve is in use by another owner like the ecn or whatever (I'm in the middle of the store right now) well my boyfriend is now out the money to buy the phone and out 150 cuz he already sent it to colorware, and he Is now out of a phone. Can anyone make any sense out of this mess like it makes no sense to me unless the dude stole the blackberry but idk why it would have come in a sealed box! Ahhh so confused!

It doesn't sound like the account is closed. So that device is tied to the phone number. If he ended within the 30 days, the equipment is expected to be returned. The account will not be cancelled until then.

He gave back his phone that he was given when he opened the account. And after he went to verizion sprint sent him a phone. He tried to return the phone and sprint wouldn't take it so he decided to sell it

The ESNs are tracked so mistake or not Sprint knows that that device was sent to him for that account. Until the account is squared away you have a device that is completely useless.

Karma sucks though...and chances are he will be billed full price for the device. If he tries to return it, they probably won't let him cuz of the alterations (colorware) done to the phone. I'm sure he'll get his...

I don't think the guy is going to take the phone back from my boyfriend though cuz he is on verizon and until those collection companies start calling I don't think he really cares. Thanks though!

If the person he got the phone from still owes sprint money. The phone will not be able to be used until payment on that person account is settled.
