Default Dumping BB Tour for Samsung Epic 4G...

guys, I played around with Epic today and was amazed at the phone. maybe because I've had bb for past 8 years, that's all that i've known and that's all that I wanted(or iphone but on CDMA). I've played around w HTC's before but wasn't that amazed by it but Epic got me. I really didn't like it at first but the more I played with it the more I liked it and the more I realized that you know what, I really do not need the blackberry. I would be better off with Epic.

The screen is just brilliant...loved the car game i played. loved the swype txting! camera/video, etc....I am one of those really stubborn ones where I needed to only have Iphone and bb but Epic has opened up my mind and made me realize that there are other capable phones out there.

Having said that, what should I look for when switching from bb to epic?
how do I do the contact transfer?
Will there be a price drop in couple months?(I can wait til thx giving or x mas even maybe)
Are there new models coming out?

You never know on price drops... It could happen tomorrow or it could happen next year.

As for new models, that's a given. I would expect the phone to feel fairly obsolete (if you always want the latest) within 6 months. But that is always the case...

I still think that in 10-15 months, the keyboards on those are going to start failing, the traditional failure rate for slider keyboards is something to be aware of esp with Samsung as there isn't some new techonolgy implemented that isn't like all the other Samsung sliding keyboards.

If it wasn't for that slider keyboard, I would have got the Epic instead of the EVO as the tech specs are just a little better with the Epic than the EVO.

I switched from the bold to the epic and couldn't be happier. I got the epic on launch day. I don't plan on going back any time soon.

Come on, were talking about android here...it was obsolete as soon as it released JK!!! But I do feel bad for the manufacture trying to keep up

I wouldn't count on Sprint doing price drops, they never seem too, but you may find it a bit cheaper on third party sites in a few months. Thing is, the latest and greatest will probably be floating around when the price does drop

I went from a Tour to an EVO for my personal line and so far I am happy. It is an extremely different device to use, there is no other way to explain it. I am not going to say one is better than the other, they are just different. Battery life is meh, I have to charge the phone every day and that is with light use, but my Tour also sucked.

Best thing about the EVO is that I get 4G at my house!!!! woooooooooooooot
I did some speed tests and was getting between 4 and 6 mbps download speeds!!! My sister in law just got the Epic, it is a very nice device and the screen is AMAZING, but I prefer the EVO.

right now you can get the Epic at $199 at Amazon, as in new models I really doubt it because the EPIC is just EPIC .. no lie the hardware that its running is top notch right now... you can't go wrong with EVO or EPIC but epic has better hardware..
