honestly for 9630 users now.....are you guys really that excited?......honestly,im not really too excited.....besides more Flash memory and WIFI....nothingelse new

Probably a lot of 9630 users that have had a lot of trackball problems that are excited just for that reason. But it's more about the bugfixes than the upgrades...

Then don't buy it? I don't really get where you are going with the "all devices will have problems" argument.
If you think it's doomed before it releases, buy something else. If you don't trust them to fix the issues (which clearly you don't), buy something else. Pretty simple. My website http://papped.webatu.com - 04-26-2010, 04:10 PM #9twitter: @eve6er69_chris

I dunno really, I am almost completely happy with the 8530 except for the 320x240 (which isn't really that huge of a deal tbh).
I could fork over retail for a 9650 but I just don't see enough reason to...
I'm probably going to wait for the slider.My website http://papped.webatu.com - 04-26-2010, 04:48 PM #11

Yeah I have no use for GSM frequencies/world phone use/etc at all.
If I did I probably wouldn't even have Sprint though...My website http://papped.webatu.com - 04-26-2010, 05:09 PM #13

Name me one phone that has no problem or bug what so ever. Probably can't. All phones will have some issue or another with people. It's just how it is. The new bold won't be flawless and have no one complain about it at all. I'm just saying if people excpect it to have no problems at all then they will be unhappy when it has some issue.

It's got nothing to do with me expecting perfect phones (which considering how long i've been on this board and how many phones I've owned would be stupid of me to think).
You're jaded, pure as simple. So why buy another of the same device line?
That would be obvious considering I said I had zero use for it...You're obviously not familiar with Sprint's unlimited data roaming options...My website http://papped.webatu.com - 04-26-2010, 06:14 PM #16

I don't think the cameras really drive sales on any of the BB's though... Increasing the camera to 5-8mp isn't going to increase marketshare (that and the mp isn't the part that actually matters anyhow).

After my experience with being one of the early adopters of the Tour, I'd advise people to wait a few months and let other people get the first run defects.

I think the odds are much, much lower. 9630 was a rushed guinea pig port of the 9000 to CDMA carriers. Second iteration is always far better off, which this literally is a second iteration of basically the same phone.
That and the trackpads have already been tried and tested on the 8520, 8530 and 9700. So that isn't even new.My website http://papped.webatu.com - 04-26-2010, 09:42 PM #21
How am I jaded? Because I don't expect perfection out of a phone? That makes me a realist. But okay. I love my tour. Problems and all. I have had 20 phone in the last 16 months so I also know a phone isn't going to be perfect. The people who think this one will though need to realize it will also have flaws. - 04-27-2010, 12:19 AM #22
I don't think the camera is a big seller for them. Plus it's not really about the size of the mp it's more on how good the autofocus is.
I think people would be happy with a good 2.0 camera with a good af. My 800w took killer pics.
And papped I agree. If you don't have a use for a world phone it would be a waste of your hard earned cash for something that's not that big of a jump up from your current curve 2. The real only diff is a keyboard/screen and more memory if u don't use the camera often. My original curve is getting old and I think it will be a HUGE jump for me to get the bold.
I know where I will be that Sunday as long as best buy gets the phones same day as all the other stores. Lol

Tbh the 9100 looks pretty sweet, I just don't like half qwerty. But the compact form factor is real nice.
The memory jump is nice, but I can't see it making any difference until OS6 (which by that point, you could upgrade to something newer than the 9650 anyways). I don't get even close to the memory limit on my 8530.... Unless they start releasing 10mb+ opengl apps more frequently (which given the adoption rate and the number of devices that are opengl compatible, will be a long time) it's not really a selling point to me.Last edited by papped; 04-27-2010 at 12:43 PM.

I wouldn't even worry about that. Better question is how cheap will everyone sell their 9630's to try and upgrade.
