Best News Leading Up to BB10, Anyone else receive this?
I just got on my Sprint account to pay my bill, and noticed a message from Sprint that stated:
"Your agreement with us for ************* will be completed on 06/23/12. We ♥ you, and to say thanks for spending time with us: Save $150 on a new phone now!"
Now, as I understand it, you get the $150 offer after 20 months of a new phone purchase/contract renewal now. But I upgrading my phone the the 9930 last August so it has only been less than 10 months since my last upgrade. So I am not for sure why I am receiving the $150 off of a new phone at this point, whether it is a mistake or what, I am happy that I have the option to use it for the BB10 launch come this fall.
Anyone else have anything similar? - 06-12-2012, 07:23 PM #2
I got an email from that about two or three weeks ago saying the same thing.
But idk if its legit or not haha. Because my upgrade isnt until May 2013.
But if it is legit & I do have the option...hello BB10 when launched!

Well, like I said it was a message directly from Sprint that was to my account so no matter what, I figure I atleast have an arguing point to get a BB10 when released with the discount. I took a screenshot of the message, just in case they try to remove it from my account.

Sprint isn't doing all too well lately so its probably a way to resign people that are not fully through with their contracts to sign up for another 2years.
Either way its great news for the customers.

I'm just happy that I will have the discounted option available for BB10 now. And I am definitely 100% glad I bought my 9930 now. I love this phone, but I did debate on purchasing it due to not being able to get a BB10 device on launch with my upgrade.

Maybe they aren't getting BB10 phones, and want to committ people to something else now?

I wouldn't understand why they wouldn't. Where they currently sit in the industry as the 3rd provider under Verizon and AT&T, I don't think they can afford to be selective on what phones they carry. And with where RIM sits in the industry, they can't afford to make phones exclusive to carriers anymore. Sprint needs to have a wide range of devices and RIM needs to have a full lineup of devices on all carriers when BB10 arrives.

Just went to my Sprint account to see if it showed that I was able to upgrade my device like the message had suggested mentioned above, and it had no reference of the message anymore and when I went to look at new devices it showed I still had 300+ days until my upgrade would be available.
So my suspicions seem to be correct in that the message was possibly an error and they removed it.
I am just glad that I took screen shots of the message in which I hope to use to get them to honor an early upgrade at BB10 launch.
