Default Android will get Flash; HTC Hero can't support it! Link Provided

So I guess we will see a lot of trade ins for moments and supersonics. C'mon supersonic, I want to drop my BB so bad unless they come up with something promising and I haven't seen squat.

I was looking into the hero but like the snappier processor of the moment and having the physical keyboard as well.
I think I am going to hold off untill the 2.1 update though.

Im right there with ya chris. Although the moment isnt the "snazziest" feeling or looking phone. Very unimpressive TO ME looks wise. Really nice under the hood though. I think Sprint will have something really nice though after CTIA march 23rd for us. Hesse is already scheduled for a press conference and theres alot of chatter especially on the andriod forums about sprint getting some new android devices.. Maybe the Supersonic, Legend aka Hero2, or the Incredible (more rumored for verizon).

The hero is definitely better looking but its like a kia engine inside a ferrari and the moment vice versa.

Yeah and the hero2 will still only have a 600 MHz processor which still falls behind the moments 800.
It's like samsung just keeps there devices slow. Lol

as much as I like the open source of android and the full screens and fast processors my curve gets so much done for me as a work/personal phone. I would feel like I am cheating on rim. Lol

i was going to post this article but if you read the comments people call BS on it. so it may not even be true... so dont assume yet...

and just because the moment is running on 1.5 cupcake doesnt mean its bad i really like the phone and the OS so if you upgrade now you won;t regret it .. 2.1 will really make use of that 800 mhz. but im loving the phone right now due to its snappiness unlike my old curve

even if you do get flash it is true .. 500 mhz processor? Hero is more favored but with all these new android phones coming with 1 ghz processor why bother? if hero2 has a 600 mhz honestly what is that? isnt qualcomm suppose to release a dual core processor this year for phones already??...

At the same time the HD2 released with a snapdragon and it wasn't really a big deal. Several samsung phones had 800mhz a long, long, long time ago. Yet they didn't really set the pace for anything.

Don't buy a phone based on hardware specs alone, especially just a processor... What exactly are you going to do with 800mhz that you wouldn't with 600mhz? Is it 3d apps? You will probably end up with better 3D game support on either a low 500mhz Pre or a 3GS than you will on a 800mhz-1ghz android phone....

Me being a lay-man I have to ask why more processor power would fail to make a difference? Alot of the complaints I've heard about the hero are that the processor doesnt have enough to handle the Sense UI and the multi tasking it does. I mean I'm sure alot of it is people forgetting to close apps and letting things run in the background but still. It has to be relevant somehow. Speaking of the Pre though, Palm's release of its WebOS 1.4 on Friday adds video capture, editing, and sharing to the Pre and Pixi.Along with video recording, the updated operating system lets you trim videos and upload them directly to YouTube, Facebook, or share them via an e-mail or an MMS message. It also adds support for Adobe's Flash 10.1 Beta plug-in.

of course you based it on the hardware... thats the whole point of getting a good phone you want good stuff under the hood. and what exactly? why dont you see for yourself grab a hero and grab a moment and then tell me... because i already have... what are you baseing your phone on looks? if thats the case then buy yourself a 2g iphone since 800 mhz doesnt mean anything to you. the Android OS plus a 800 mhz processor makes a big difference.. read about the chip it uses..

Is senseUI mandatory to have a good phone? No, it shouldn't be.

    It could be that either:
-sense ui is poorly optimized, so instead of fixing that they throw more hardware at it.
-sense ui was meant for more hardware than the Hero had in the first place, which means the error was whoever decided to put sense ui on the Hero anyways...

But you can't talk the processor bean counters out of thinking a phone is better because higher number = better (which isn't actually true all the time)...

Outdated compared to other android releases makes sense, but should a 500-600mhz phone run good when stuff like the Pre and iPhone are similar? Yeah...

Sometimes there's more to blame than just the processor.

I think Samsung might be partly to blame. Their brand is kind of recognized as "cheap mass market" across multiple carriers. Most of their top phones for other platforms never make it to the US either.

Agreed. They came out with the instinct and then made the exact same phone for multiple carriers with different tweeks.. Even their phone that came at MWC the "Wave" is lame. But after reading about it I think it is made for a different market than the U.S. Love my Samsung TV though. :P
