Default Phone Face

PhoneFace Review

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone my name is Ellie aka: Bloocracker.

I chose this application because it's easy to use and I don't have to cruise through my phonebook everytime I have to make a call. I just pick the picture of my contact and all the info comes up, email and all the numbers for that person. You can call, text or email with one quick move.

Set up: You simply go to PhoneFace · BlackBerry from your blackberry browser. You can either try their free trial or buy the application. Once you do either it takes you directly to the download page and you're set to go. After you have your application you add your contacts by pressing your menu button while you're in the application and follow the simple directions.

Initial Impressions: I really enjoyed how big the pictures of my contacts are. I wear glasses and even without you can clearly see the full color shot of whomever you may want to call, email or text. I was pleasantly surprized at how easy this aplication is to use.

Long Term Observations: I've had this application for a couple of weeks and so far I am quite content with it. It's also a nice looking application. I like not having to look for numbers, just click the pic and go.

Conclusions; Personally I enjoy this application and would recommend it to anyone who has a large phonebook or who likes to optimize their time on their blackberry as I'm certain many of us do. With this application you can do either of 3 things with a quick press of your thumb and isn't that what we love about our berries. Hurray for productivity!

Pros: easy use
full color large photos
easy scrolling slide fashion
you can text, email and call through the app.

Cons: None as of yet. I'm happy with its functions.

Purchase: go to PhoneFace · BlackBerry The application costs 9.99

I'm currently trying Phoneface and am having a problem getting it to see all my photos, the ones I want to be using of course. I have them all in the pictures folder on the media card along with the correct size home screen pictures for an 8350I and I can see them all in media manager which was how I put them on the card.

They're all the same format for those I want to use in Pf, one of them loads fine into my contacts but the rest won't? Anyone have this problem with the software or have an idea for a fix??

I just paid for the program too and I'm starting to wonder if I should have looked around for something a bit more robust and maybe a little less buggy. It seems to get quirky as I continue to go back and forth trying to load pictures to match contacts and then eventually requiring a reset as folders are no longer accessible.

I am still on the trial and while I really like the look and interface, the program has caused a reboot and battery pull within 10 minutes.

Before I purchase this program I would like to see a more robust build.

my $.02

I got my copy working correctly after walking away from it and going back later. I do like it for it's intended purpose and I'd like it better if it recognized contacts with direct connect phones.

I like the ability to quickly scroll through contacts looking at quality pics. I run it from bbsmart shortcuts via the convenience key and it works good for me...could be a keeper.

I'm having the same problem with duplicate images, it seems to be creating a thumbnail and then caches them. It would be nice if the photos were all stored in one spot instead of making multiple copies of the same images used.

Default PhoneFace

I have used PhoneFace on my previous BB 8310 and the contacts were full screen. I have now downloaded the same programme on my BB 8900 and the contacts pictures are half size and names very small. Can anyone please help??
