Default IMHO: The 9530 is Still Too New

I have 2 new 9530 Storms with Verizon's latest o/s & s/w revisions. Lots of rev. 1.0.xx, etc. My wife and I (that's why 2 Storms) are having all kinds of lock ups, menus not opening, memory 'leaks', etc. and NO 3rd party apps. yet. We've been back to the store 4 times in less than 2 weeks for 'updates' and work-arounds. (4.7.0.75 o/s.)

One more trip on Mon. and if these still have some quirks they are going back under the 30 day guarantee and reluctantly we'll go to an iphone.

What exactly is happening? Your post is a bit vague. Specifics would help in pinpointng issues.

The preloaded theme has no memory leaks I can observe that are significant.

What type of lock ups?

What weird glitches?

If you're just running slow that can be fixed. I run at 45mb free mem with 4 themes loaded and several 3rd party apps.

Did you exchange the phones? Details will help us help you

I dont understand how people run even 30mb or more with free ram. I cant get that to happen on mine. Only time it ever did was on a full wipe and reinstall without 3rd party apps.

Anyways, back to the main issue. I would say try a leaked OS, 109 worked great for me. Most lock ups stopped for me when I did the leaked OS upgrade.

Agreed, def. try .109 it worked great for me. i'm on the 113/114 hybrid now though and no complaints the only dig difference is the unlock speed which is a bit faster than 109 and theres the new select tool

look in the tips and faqs for storms there's a bunch of things you can do to get into the 40's easily. I run on .75 official and i have over 40mb most of the time throughout the day.

Dumping wordmole and brickbreaker, the non english languages, and the sample pics were huge gains.

Sorry you're having so many problems, my Storm works great. Just because you;re having problems with the Storm why do you have to switch to an Apple? Verizon has about 4 different BBs to choose from switch to another. I could never understand why ppl stick to a phone that doesnt work properly (no offense).
