O.K. WHy the 10 character rule?

Why is there a 10 character minimum in the forums? So many times a simple yes or no will suffice, or Thank you. Is it just my lazy a$$ that gets annoyed with this?

I like the 10 character minimum. There's no context to a simple yes or no, and no keywords useful for a search. To me, that's the reason.

It's also to make sure people are writinging meaningful posts, and not just one or two word replies.
