This happens sometimes
and other times the site takes a minute to load.
and sometimes it actually works, but 20 seconds or so.

So upon using Google (who woulda thunk)
I came up with http://techcrunch.com/2010/08/31/chrome-downforeveryoneorjustme/ the page is a Chroms feature when a url stops responding.

The obvious question is - did the popup appear automatically, or did you make a manual query at downforeveryoneorjustme.com?
